Nano on OS2008
 

Hi, how do I get nano on OS 2008? I cant seem to find it, I can only find 07 and 06.

It's a console application. The Bora version will work fine.

When I go here: http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2007/nano/
And use the "Click to install" Button The app manager gives me this message "Unable to install nano. Incompatible application package"

How do I get around this?

If I try to hunt down the deb manually and install http://www.aeracode.org/maemo/2007/n....4-5_armel.deb I get this error "Application packages missing: ncurses-base"

ncurses is in the main Chinook repository.

Found it. I had to install this repository

It had nano and ncurses-base.

Now iv had to reflash my N810

And again Nano wont install. I have tried many different .debs All say "incompatible software package"

Install it from within x-term with dpkg -i nameofpackage.deb

Still does not work, it says errors where encounterd.

How are you all installing nano? It seems to be the one program that will not work for me...

Iv tried that one, It installs and when I run it it gives me a xterm error.

I've used it fine on my N800. Except I could never get keyboard to work.

I've been trying to use Nano 2.0.2 and I had to stop using it because it segfaults. Can anyone else replicate it? I specifically use it via an ssh session to my N800.

Here's what I do that makes it segfault:

Open a file with nano

Search for something using ^W

First time using ^W works

Next time using ^W causes segfault

Any ideas?
