mce is currently broken. It's been fixed by Nokia, but they haven't released the patched version officially yet. We'll probably either see it with Diablo (or maybe they'll call it Elephanta :rolleyes:) in the next month or two, or you can install powerlaunch to get it right now.

Edit mce.ini from doublepress=disabled to doublepress=softpoweroff

Look for the option to enable locking too.

Soft power-off is currently 100% broken, so there's no point in doing this now, but, yeah, this is essentially the method that you'll use when it gets fixed. There's also a section for offline mode, too.

Replace mce with powerlaunch and spend endless hours of fun configuring it just how you want it? that's what I did.

I agree that it is broken but I'm not sure which option does it but my n800 locks keypad and dims screen so it very slightly fixes problem for me. The only thing is that I have to hold Power button on resume to restore device mode menu and enable home button.

@kimiko

GeneralAntilles is right, the off-line mode settings need fixing too.

Re: modding mce for powerboot key

Your offline mode would stiil work. It's that you need to edit the settings soft poweroff uses for offline mode selection.

Use vi as root to edit.

Don't mess with vi unless you want to; install JOE, it's much more friendly, IMHO. Or some (******ed) people like pico.
