Re: iGoogle (Mail-Cal) on the N810

Your link (google.com/m) is Great for the phone, however, no Calendar/Todo directly which was what I use the most...without having to install (GPE) and update (Erminig). While do "like and use them", the iGoogle gives me a "One-stop shop" kind of thing and the time to load GPE and update is almost the same as using iGoogle. I have everything on iGoogle, use gooletalk for video so have cut down on the effort of Thunderbird/Outlook/Google/palm sync to just one place that my Cell (N82) and N810 gets everything from.

Faster...yet I do prefer the iGoogle interface, however, when on cell data plan...slow compared to wifi..it is a great backup for quick look see...

Yup, I use them both. I link to the lite version and use it on the road via cell but my "home page" is set to the heavier version for when I'm using a WiFi connection.

I can use the iGoogle stuff in a pinch too. I do wish it was faster. BTW, how to you get around the "unsupported browser" message at the top of the screen when viewing Gmail (full, regular gmail I mean). Can we just change the browser info? Or is there just some catching up that is needed for microB as well as Gmail ends?

I use full regular Gmail, have the default useragent, and see no such message.

hmmmm...lemme go check mine and see what it sez...maybe I forgot to change the UA back to default when I was playing with setting it to the Apple UA to see some of the iPhone sites...

EDIT:

Nope my UA was set back to an empty field which is the default. So that's not it...hmmm, weird...

I use igoogle as my homepage too, hopefully the gecko updates coming in diablo will make it quicker. I love having recent mail and calender on one page.

I don't just clearing that field will return it back to default state... so that may still be the problem. There was a post in a thread awhile back about people having problems after changing to the iPhone settings, then changing back.

One thing I don't like with the ig interface is that the mail link takes you to the unencrypted version of gmail. Not good, particularly not when using a mobile device.

Yep, that is why I would use my BT keyboard with the N82 and/or the N810, when no wifi, thru the N82 data connection for long-wordy emails...

Double-check by going to http://useragent.org/ with your NIT.

You are 100% correct, value = "blank" does not restore the browser to the default value.

I went back to my original thread and corrected the post. (Also added easy-to-use bookmarks for quickly switching back and forth.)

brecklundin, I don't get such a message at the top of the webpage in Google Docs. However, while Google Docs is willing to show me my list of stored documents and is willing to open my word processing docs, when I try to open a stored spreadsheet, I get:

"Oops, you must have Firefox version 1.0.7 or higher"

and it refuses to open the spreadsheet.

I remember quite clearly that a couple months ago I was able to open that spreadsheet in Google Docs. I don't know what's changed -- I've done some tweaks to the browser, but none that I believe would impact Google Docs; I think Google Docs may be what's changed, not my Tablet.

And, oh, I'm glad to hear that your meds are still working :)

Re: iGoogle (Mail-Cal) on the N810

iGoogle is my primary calendar but on the N810 I use mcalendar which syncs with Google calendar. This insures I have my calendar available even without an Internet connection.

nice, didnt know about that one. Too abd that using it on my e51 loaded 2.3 MB of data, thats harsh for a home page, if you use low speed connections, tethering etc
