N800 for Sale

Hi,
I am selling my beloved N800. I had mainly used it for about a month for a wireless auditing job that i no longer have. I had this purchased in December 07.
The N800 is scratch free with all the original accessories and the original box. I had it upgraded to Os2008 with lot of security tools installed (which i can clean up if you want). I also have a pair of 8gb Class 6 SDHC cards which I can sell it too, if you want. I can post pics if anyone wants.
The buyer will pay the actual shipping cost. I will accept paypal (+ applicable fees) / cash and will ship it only to US / Canada.

yeah, that might help. :D

It won't be enough to convince me to buy, though, regardless of price -- I ignore the ads from folks who have a post count of 1, and it's a 'for sale' post. These are not members of our community, offering a deal to other members... they are opportunists, IMO, taking advantage of our community to hawk their wares.

Well maybe I have not contributed to this community, but when you loose your job and have some bills to pay, You will attempt to sell your stuff, where ever it will fetch a good price. And I don't think I have violated any of the forum rules, it doesn't say anywhere that you need X number of posts before you can post a sell ad. And always there is going to be a start some place, people dont always start with 100 posts. Although you can certainly gain a lot of post comments by posting comments like one above. You want to ignore the ads, but yet tell everyone in the community that you want to ignore, nice try.
And if the community still feel that this is taking advantage, i am willing to take this post down and remove the membership.

No matter how 'mild' you may be this is rude and isn't a contribution to the thread. The mods need to be much more strict about thread control here.

Good luck on your sale. Posting some pics up may help.

agreed... and, perhaps, limit posts in this section to folks who've been around for a while. Notice I didn't say anything on your for-sale thread. ;)

Then why single me out, there are additional folks who have posted with zero posts, why dont you increase your post counts by flaming them too :)

Hey, thats ok, I guess i blew my top too, tough economic times. As for my contributions, the N800 wireless auditing tools ported to n800 ported from existing tools. Nice utilities, if some one knows how to use them.

To show thats its working, additional pics. And by the way the charger is also included. Its in working conditions.
The screen has a screen protector and there are no dead pixels and the battery holds charge just like new one.

Obviously you don't ignore the comments; you troll them. A good way to be hostile to new community members that might have more possibilities to buy these tablets (and possibly generate enough comments to be "worthy" and bring value to the community) is to chase away new community members who want to sell them.

Ignore whatever you want ... that is your perogative. But to actively discourage potential new members from buying a tablet by disparaging seller's reputations is damaging to the community you seem to value. So it is rather self-defeating.

It happens that I don't like your attitude either. I don't see anything wrong with someone trying to sell their N800 here whether they are a member of the community or not. when I bought my N800 it wasn't from a member of the community either.

They must have a Controversial Thread Radar. :p

...or, maybe they are the ones trolling. ;)

perhaps IndianJewel should ask to have this topic renamed "trash briand's attitude", and conduct his sale on a less cluttered thread. :)

I am not new to forums. I am new to this one.

you flamed the seller..... but let us move along if that is possible.

I like turtles.

PS - if I was wanting to sell my N800, this forum is where I'd start. $180 for an N800 is a pretty fair price, too.

Re: N800 for Sale

With many good wishes for success to the seller (originator of this hijacked thread), I couldn't help get in a dig as a person (tablet noobie) who liked this board/community SO much I took the plunge and ordered a NEW 800 the other day. To see this kind of hard-nosed attitude is a bit disappointing. Fortunately, this kind of thing accounts for far less then 1% of posts I've seen to date, so here I stay.

And hey, IndianJewel might be a noob or an opportunist, but he ain't no dummy - this forum is a GREAT place to offer this piece of tech for sale. Sadly, he'll likely have to start a new thread to find someone who won't get sucked into this vortex ;-)

Re: N800 for Sale

Well, I have a few offers and hoping that it works over over next couple of days. I will wait to come back with maybe another version of the tablet later. but for now its good bye.

I dont mean to jump into the fray, but he has a very valid point. Well I agree that anyone should be able to join, even if only to sell their equipment.

I personally would not purchase anything from someone in these threads, who had a post count of 1 on a sale thread. We used to be overwhelmed with people signing up and pasting ads selling all kinds of stuff. Of course I would not send money to Nigeria either.

I think pointing out the concern to other users is very valid.

TRUST NOBODY!!

The best thing to do in situations like this is to use a broker, like escrow.com so then nobody gets scammed.
