FBReader Editor Needed Freeware Please
Hi Guys.
Im looking for an FBReader Editor to create Ebooks for on FBReader. I have microsoft word but it does not have a compatible format for output so i can use saved documents so they read nicely in FBReader. Im NOT after commercial software for this purpose so just Freeware. Maybe a converter if not an editor for conversion to FB2 format. Get messaging guys and thanks. I tried searching the site but its a nightmare needle in a haystack. andrew |
Re: FBReader Editor Needed Freeware Please
FBReader will handle just about anything from rtf to html and plucker. Personally, I'd just use html, as most text editors can export it and FBReader handles it well.

Re: FBReader Editor Needed Freeware Please
Try Mobipocket Creator - http://www.mobipocket.com/en/Downloa...ilsCreator.asp
I used this for converting a large book (with links and notes) from MS Word format. FBReader understand a mobipocket format. |

Re: FBReader Editor Needed Freeware Please
i've been reading ebooks converted in openoffice from .doc to .rtf, so that's for editing.
saving as .html would probably work too. |

I haven't used either yet. Also, there are two different programs, and I don't the difference: BookDesigner and FictionBookDesigner. P.S. You all may also be interested in the thread "Gotta lotta Secure Mobi format eBooks wanna read them in Fbreader?" |

Re: FBReader Editor Needed Freeware Please
I agree that HTML is good for FBReader. However, not all HTML is good. For example, i have a number of books where each chapter is in a new file. It's a pain in FBReader. Simple HTML is best. Don't specify font size, page size, etc. Don't do CSS.
If your book doesn't have images, plain text is fine. Make paragraphs all on one line. And text is tiny. Compressed text is even smaller. I also read alot using the web browser, and Evince (for PDFs). The N800 (770 and N810) is an extremely versatile shirt pocket mobile book reading platform. |
Re: FBReader Editor Needed Freeware Please
drm ebooks are easy to undo....and theres plenty of places to get the stuff to restructure the books....
