Updated using Diablo's new Update All, worked quite nicely. :D
Beta 9 is a lot faster. The whole interface feels much more responsive and snappy. Really big improvement here. UPnP is fantastic so far, connects to the EyeConnect server on my G5, works great. All in all, this is a rather fantastic release so far! Thanks, guys! |

When your in the album cover view for music, when you click and hold, it does not add that song to the on the go list.
oh yeah interface is really responsive, thumbs up! i love you guys, great work, if we were in prison, i would protect you in the showers. |

So is the ogg-support once again broken because my oggs won't show in audio files? Or is there something to update? Canola looks great, it's quick and those new plugins are just great! Thank you!

Marcelo, great work.
Just some observations: * I still need to modify osso-software-version to get to run videos on 2008HE. * UPNP plugin works on 2008HE, despite that it is not present in the 770 repo. Didn't actually test it to play videos, 'cause i don't have upnp server here. |

Hmm, I figured I shouldn't have done a full upgrade. I have the extras-devel repository. Seems that the python update killed canola with the following message:
c_evas.so: undefined symbol: evas_event_feed_hold Any idea how to fix this? |

Couple of things:
A. Ogg support and the Development environment were not update, expect the updates soon (this week) b. bundyo : yes you still need to do that, as I told you we were frozen, and morpheuz was out in vacations, but we will add this to beta 10 Bundyo: can you make a new thread helping the 770 users with the HE edition to use it? :) Thanks! liquid, I know the name of the video is the hash from youtube URL but we will improve it soon : ) a ctually the new you tube is going to really surprise you guys : lots of features before beta10 :)

Does playlist creation only work for items in the music library?
I tried it with my podcasts, and it does not appear to work. I would love to be able to add podcasts to the playlist. That way it didn't just automatically play the next podcast in the new podcast list. That happens when I don't stop a podcast right before the end, and then the next podcast that starts isn't marked new any longer, and it may not be the one I am going to listen to next, so I have to remember to navigate to it when I want to hear it. It looks like there is a bug in the YouTube plugin. When you hit the hardware "back" button when in full-screen mode it just goes to a black screen and stays there. The only way out of it I've found is to hit the switcher button and close Canola.
By the way YouTube videos are playing much smoother now. Thanks. |

Hi Hal : for now now yes. BUT I PERSONALLY asked a system that would work ANYWHERE. So it can be added as we go. To avoid multiple feedbacks from different sources we have only in music today :)
*also we want to avoid cross-listing because the change of players -> back to screen would be very confusing :) But: Add Tags (recursive Adds) and PLaylist for podcast, videocast, and others will be available soon! Briand : If I say friday this week would that be good? :))) <Marcelo |

A big thank you to everybody working on Canola! This new release really is awesome - fun to play around, very usable, lots of really "sweet" eye candy. Great work you did!

Thank you to the canola team. Another good release. Videos now retain aspect ratio when playing full screen, Yeah!!!
Album cover downloader still hangs for me. It has done this for the last 2 or 3 releases. Somehow it hangs when trying to load album cover for "Classic Queen" album. I end up killing it and then I have no album covers. I wonder if I can bypass cover download for this one album by storing a local cover image and have cover download complete for rest of the albums. How is one supposed to store an album cover locally - a jpeg image with a specific filename in the album directory, or something else? |

can you try downloading only this album's cover? go to the 3-album screen, and click options, update album covers. It will try just for it, and you can say from where do you want. How can I test the UPNP functionality, I have a upnp server a home but it does not show up (but alas I do not know where to check either ;-) ). edit: forgot the upnp got it's own thread... Jurgen |

You need to send us info dude :) we cannot figure out by magic what happened :) so, please try installing go into the menu of the application manager search for logs.. and send us the log result. What can happens: you have devel-class repositories, that are blocking stuff etc. So follow the directions on the post : remove/disabled all the devel things make sure you don;'t have python launcher installed make sure no application is running when installing run again canola-cleanup just to make sure (it unninstall canola, so don't need to unninstal by hand) and then try installing... Yes, it appears "Media Server Ball, besides the Settings one" You click, you get a search servers, click it.. it will list the servers for you. Once you select one server.. make sure your server is configured, your firewall on the network allows the traffic of the upnp data.. and so on. You will be able to browse the folders the upnp server is exposing. Marcelo |

Yeah, it's not installed correctly ... you should have a options button there in the right lower corner.
Can you try clicking there? And does it appears on settings (the option) ? Please, unninstall and re-install them : / We will investigate this conflict.. it shouldn't happen : Marcelo |
