Drew Huge Group at Best Buy

Ok so I have been without a Micro USB Cable for like 2 weeks now and I need to reflash I know I could have ordered a dozen by now and got them here and reflashed but I'm one of those people who would rather drive 50 miles and get it that day then wait for it to ship in 2. Well I have checked every store you could think of most of them didn't even know what a micro USB cable is including Best Buy the first guy I ask was in computer department there he his mouth hit the floor when I whipped out my N810 to show him what the Micro USB Port looked like. He must have asked 20 question including what it was and where I got it from.

I then remembered that they are using Micro USB on the new Razor so I thought hey I bet the Cell Phone department would have one. So I headed over there and asked the guy who was working there. He also didn't know what a Micro USB Cable was but he told me to ask Computer Guys lol. Well I also showed him the port and there was several people around, the next thing I know I'm answering a million questions and showing what it can do. It was kind of funny one guy who even had an Ipod Touch in him hand put it back and said he was going to order one when he got home.

I still have to order me a Micro USB cable but at least I had fun watching people wish they had an N810.

(sigh)

Yeah, if only the tablets fitted into a neat category maybe more shops might be aware of them.

They're not phones or music players, so they obviously don't exist. :-)

A couple months ago I was at a restaurant waiting for the rest of my party to arrive, so I killed some time by having a beer at the bar and checking my email on my N800 (the restaurant had an open WiFi). A very attractive lady bartender asked me to show it to her (the N800) so I let her see a web page on it. She said "wow it does everything a real computer can do, but it fits in your pocket". She was right on the money, but my party arrived and thwarted any further advances. In any case, the moral of the story is... chicks dig IT's. ;)

Yeah its said the things like this you can get online but not in stores. Best Buy doesn't even sale the Eee PC in store but they have it online.

Where is this bar? I am going to go in with 2 N800, 1 N810, and I also plan to impress her with a different tablet, a 770...........

The cool thing is she knew it was a computer and not a cell phone.

Now I'm laughing because I just went to the restaurant's website and read their blurb "...clearly filled with beautiful people (staff included) the bar and lounge remain leisurely yet lively all night creating a swank atmosphere." Sorry, but I don't think Jose the busboy qualifies but it's definitely a nice place.

You can see a pic of the bar area where I was sitting.

I guess showing up strapped to the hilt with devices might get you a date with the bomb squad rather than the bartender

I have lostt count of the number of times I've been throuugh a similar experience with my N800... It's rare when I don't end up giving an impromptu demonstration, any more...

...and, I've noticed the first question is now, "What device is that?" instead of "What phone is that?"

I've had people almost pity me because it's not an iphone. Fry's used to carry n800's in the store but stopped about right before the iphone came out.

I was at a coffee shop watching some videos on my n810 and there was a group of 3 buisnessmen sitting at the next table and they were discussing a merger but all 3 of them were giving my n810 a serious ogling. I think I saw one of them wipe drool off a few times.

Why, because the iPhone costs more and they were afraid the N800 might hurt sales?..rofl.

Haha that reminds me of a story of my own. My cousin goes to the same university I do, so when we play pool his friends are usually around (I guess they have similar break times grr freshmen).

Anyway, one of his friends had an iPod touch (from what I saw it seemed like it was just a normal official one you'd get from Apple, no custom firmware, nothing so you couldn't run anything besides what Apple wants you to run. Anyway so I wanted to show my cousin this youtube video, Charlie the unicorn (he had never seen it and its his name). So I take out my n800 and his friends ask me what is that. I tell them and the guy with the iPod touch says he likes the touch better (that's fine with me, I'm an advocate of use what you want or prefer). Anyway, after I load the video from Mytube I let it play for my cousin.. with the built-in n800 speakers. :D
