Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing
 

Having WSOD'd my n810 yesterday I've just loaded up the flasher to reinstall the operating system and to my surprise an update was available. It is specifically called Diablo, is this a prerelease, did people know about this? If I'm just behind the times I apologise, but I thought you may like to know.

I think that the time of release has been more appropriate than friday afternoon, don't you?
At this time most of people are at the office or going to work (apart from the ones completing they final master paper at home :D and are easily distracted) so servers are no so full.

Fridays are good too, there is whole weekend for playing with it (updating bootmenu, patching kernel and other stuff).

My flasher updated itself automatically when i went to reflash.

-The "substantial" upgrade to Wayfinder appears to be the addition of a green heart to the logo. The GUI seems the same.

-Restoring other apps now. Canola and Maemo Mapper went well...

At least it is for sure now that the maps on Wayfinder are 2 years old since the dates are shown in the application.

How funny. I spent a while yesterday digging through clues to find the username/password for the repository. Found it and started installing last night, but never finished because of some error with a modest-related file. All in vain...

Wow... downloaded fast this morning @ 6:20 EST.... took only 6 minutes! Will have to flash tonite. Dare I wonder if the download/server issues we all faced with Chinook's release have been corrected? Thanks Nokia for this update to a wonderful device!!

restored - applications installed.
only problem so far is that personal menu + large status bar clock can't install (application manager gives an "applicatoin package not found" error).

Else - everything looks fine - and it's now possible to always launch finger keyboard on screen touch - hooray.

I was unable to install FBReader until I set the distribution to chinook, instead of leaving it blank. I've added chinook to the extras catalogue too, and got a load more applications available :)

pixelseventy2,same here. since diablo defaults to the diablo path on the repositorys you need to do that..

Have you noticed that the version of RTCOMM shipped with Diablo does not include MSN or purple lib support?

Yes, it works fine. The installation method is the same as it was.
