Nokia firmwares

Apparantly the website was down since yesterday. You can either wait or try http://josiahg777.maemobox.org. There are firmwares for 770, N800, N810 old and new and flasher.

Edit: Thanks josiahg777 and Andrewfblack

Re: Nokia firmwares

Just to mention the only firmware that I've got up is OS2008 DIABLO for the N810.

I wish I had thought to download the rest but I always assumed they'd be available from Nokia. My apologies, but hopefully my firmware will help some of you :)

Thank's bunanson :)

Re: Nokia firmwares

Ok. I got it. And I like to help. If you send me with your email address and version and tablet model, I see it and attach to a email, send, done. However, for those just sent me a email address with " would you please........., all the kind words,.........a copy" How in the world I would know what copy do you want? So, if you are wondering how come I have not get back to you, please resend another PM with

model
OS 2007He or Diablo or whatever
email address.

I do not need any kind words. It takes me TIME to read them. Blunt, direct, like a machine. Thanks. Bottomline, I will get you something, and if it is NOT right, just PM again with the info, I will get it right.

Re: Nokia firmwares

Apparantly Yahoo and Gmail does not take .bin files. So the only way you can get it from me is AIM file transfer WITHOUT firewall. Sorry, that is ithe way life is. I do not mind to send it, you just have to either catch me on AIM, or PM me.

One of you trying to catch me on AIM for 2007He, please try again, I was away for awhile. Finally, I can only do 1 file transfer at a time, first come first serve.

Or if you are really technically savvy, teach me how to put it in a folder of your choice, that is ok with me. Finally, what the hack, somebody just have to host it, I will send him or her the files, you host it anyway you want.....

Good luck,

bun

Teach me! I do not know how to seed a bittorrent :(

Anyhow, I am giving all the firmwares to josiahg777 and he is going to host them. Lets all give josiahg777 a big hand for picking this up while the Nokia site is down. Good job, josiahg777. It is going to take a couple of hour? If you need any firmware, check out his webspace.

50 kB/sec doesn't cut it. Lets collaborate instead. Someone who has the binaries please indeed create a torrent.

How this is done depends on the OS and BitTorrent application. I don't know what OS or BitTorrent application you are using.

Here is an online application allowing one to create a torrent: http://www.bitlet.org

As tracker consider one of the following they are free of charge and can sustain high bandwidth:
http://open.tracker.thepiratebay.org/announce
http://denis.stalker.h3q.com:6969/announce
http://www.torrentsnipe.info:2701/announce

Now follow the instructions on http://www.mininova.org/upload or host the torrent on your home line. The .torrent metadata is very small.

Let me know once its uploaded, I'll happily join the torrent for the cause.

Re: Nokia firmwares

I can't create the torrent now, but I will as soon as I get home

Re: Nokia firmwares

Going into josiahg777's website at a rate 100 KB/s.......will be done in 20 min! happy ftp!
770,n800,n810 old and new,

enjoy,

Re: Nokia firmwares

Can some one make a list of:
* firmware filename
* MD5
* Which hardware is it good for (only N810?)
* release date
I guess, this will be helpful to find firmware donwloads on inofficial sites

Okay, these are the files up on my server as far as I can tell:

MD5sum: 589056ea3c725f12e211e401b7c953db

MD5sum: 786a0150ca29e6688b3dbcbe14bacbd1
HW/FW: N800/Chinook

There's also HE os files that I'm not familiar with... could someone please let me know what these are so I can generate MD5's for them?

Also, please let me know immediately if I messed up on any of the above.

A Huge thanks to Andrewfblack for the hosting :)

Re: Nokia firmwares

I have something to say. Firstly, I know we helped at least 4 people who are upset for not able to get the firmware. I hope they are much happier by now. Secondly I have to thank josiahg777, and now Andrewfblack to make this all possible. When I said I want to help yesterday 2 pm, I did not aware it is something that I dont have, the FTP, websites etc. , next time I would check myself out before jumping in the the water, and almost drown.

Hope we can keep this accessible till Nokia is up again, and very soon, Tekplay will join in the hosting.... :)

Edit: Just got 3 more AIMs, that made 7 by my own encounter, plus many just go to the website and dl anonymously.... We, the community, deserved a pad on our back, yup!

Re: Nokia firmwares

definetly very happy! Many thanks to all of you!

In fact I restrained myself of updating my tablet 2 weeks ago, just before going away for vacations, and I was relying on this weekend to perform the update and re-installing everything...I was rather disappointed by the non-availability of the firmware from the official site...

Well...at least we have a great community, willing to help when the need arises!

Thanks, Tekplay. I see only some files, not all, maybe you need to move the rest to the software section? Thanks again. I am a little bit shock that 1 am in the morning, still getting PM asking about the firmwares. I think, we, together did a beautiful job to help each other! This is just another example that we, the community needs to have some kind of ...... backdoor? (have to think of a word that do not step on Nokia :) ). I know, this is proprietary stuff...

So far, there are two hosting sites plus some scattering all on the itT forum, I think this should be good enough for a temp solution?

Re: Nokia firmwares

Thanks to everyone who made the firmware files available!

Now I have a request. Can someone post the OS2006 (gregale) firmware for the 770? I just got a used 770 specifically for testing gregale, and I still can't get to the main Nokia firmware page.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Nokia firmwares

The Nokia firmware page is now back...I think that you should be able to get ahold of that firmware file directly from the official page now...

Re: Nokia firmwares

Please help to list those files on :

Re: Nokia firmwares

Since the page came back and the mirrors went away, the official download page is now gone again(404).

So if anybody has the flasher and OS images (I'm using an n800) please upload them to mediafire or something and post the links here. Thanks.

endsormeans 2014-12-15 17:22

Re: Nokia firmwares

Yup the official page is gone...
Nokia gave it up...
then M$ got their sticky fingers on the goodies...
No need to upload them...
It has been posted enough everywhere...
some members have gone so far as to put a link for the firmware in their signatures ...
Here are all of them...
Again...

https://web.archive.org/web/20131117.../#sdk_releases

I suggest something a bit more obvious and direct if there is no legality issues...such as a giant strobe-flashing banner on the maemo frontpage otherwise people will be "looking" for them but not "hunting" for them. (and most likely will get very frustrated at not immediately finding them..thus thinking and believing there is a serious problem ...that maemo 3/4/5 is somehow crippled or dead...when in reality it is nothing more than awkwardly placed important stuff that can be challenging to find...)

eldiablo 2014-12-15 17:30

Re: Nokia firmwares

Thanks. Silly me, I thought to look for the nokia download page at archive.org but I didn't think to try the skeiron.org page on it.

endsormeans 2014-12-15 17:33

Re: Nokia firmwares

I know hey? :D
You wouldn't believe the goodies I've found buried in the deep web...
I take it you haven't had to reflash for a while now eh?... :D
Some few things have changed since...but not much..

I would suggest to any...since the archive I posted may be required (of course asked by Nokia in concern to legalities) to be removed and made non-accessible (like all other examples of this page's data have been from other locations) ....I would not be surprised if that were to happen.

consequently those who do not have these firmwares I suggest you download and store them (rar, zip...) at your earliest convenience....while it is easy, convenient and accessible .

The more members who have all these firmwares backed up and saved ....the better...
to help/ share with others ...new members or old ...when they are not accessible any longer from anywhere publicly.
