Running out of space
I'm running out of space on the root file system. Maybe one of you linux gurus can tell me what do you figure I can safely copy and link over to the internal memory card?
Could I do the whole /home folder? What's safe to have on a fat32 partition, and what needs to be on a unix partition? |
Re: Running out of space
search for "Clone to SD"

Re: Running out of space
Hmmm... That looks pretty hard-core, but it may very well come to that...

Re: Running out of space
Temporary fix: go file manager, delete unncessary files, user manual, video/audio clips etc, will gain ~80 Mb spaces.
Not a solution, but a workable temp fix. bun |

A little bit off topic, what is the logic for Nokia doing that, to check for user manual/nokia video clip upon SSU upgrading? To ensure it is a Nokia product? or just plain stupidity  BTW, I am curious to see some "soft porn cloning..." it is clone to SD website you quoted. Kind of wondering what is "porn" referred to? bun |
Re: Running out of space
Yeah.. I ran out of space recently. Not good. Had to re-evaluate what software I have installed. I think Apache is going to have to go. The webcam thing is cute but I rarely use it and that's 15MB

Re: Running out of space
Clone to SD is way easy, with all of penguinbait's tools. I did it in less than 10 minutes.
To all those so afraid of updating: I reflashed, because I wanted a fresh system. I will do the same when the next Ubuntu comes out, and when the next Windows comes out. Why, because it gives you are fresh start and makes sure there are no old things (like the manuals) messing up the new. I don't see why everyone is so against reflashing. The backup tool makes it really simple... @bunanson, he called it "soft core pron" because Eladon said "cloning to SD is hard-core" |
