Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
1. I have set up Claws 3.6.1 to connect to my Google mail account via IMAP. Most is fine, but I would like to unsubscribe to the Spam folder, so that not even the headers of spam mails are downloaded. The context menu 'Unsubscribe folder...' does not work for me, though.
2. When typing on the stylus keyboard I can't choose the auto-completion suggestions and have to type each word fully instead. (It works with the big thumb keyboard, but I don't like that). 3. Is there any way to make Claws light the LEDs and/or play a sound when a new IMAP mail arrives in the INBOX? Any ideas? Cheers :-) |

That works for me. Quote:
stupid question, sorry; do you tick with the stylous the suggestion at the bottom? Quote:
and tick the options for leds/sound/pop ups (at the end) you prefer.. hope it helps. |
Re: Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
Thanks!

Thanks, that seems to work. Quote:
Sure. But Claws does not take the clicked suggestion. Instead I have to type every letter. Quote:
Hmm, did that, but LED still does not light, neither does a sound play. |

Are those enabled? If not tick all except the first (Device on). You basically need only the email one but the others are nice too :) About the sound, I can only think that you don't have the volume up. (?). Did you check this? BTW, do you get the pop-up messages (if you enable them in claws)? That should be the first to check. |

Re: Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
I have followed the same steps as kasimir and can reproduce the lack of LED notification on my N810 with latest firmware.

Re: Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
The LED/Sound options do not apply for imap connections. They do work for pop. I have already posted a feature request for this on the claws bugzilla.

My work's provided IMAP makes the LED blink. hope it helps.. |
Re: Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
Actually, I have discovered that the LED/Sound options DO work IF Claws is the client to first pull a new message from the server.
The problem I was having was that Thunderbird with its "IMAP Push" persistent connection was always the first client to get a new message. With my other IMAP clients off, Claws sets the notification LED/sound. |

Re: Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
It doesn't work for gmail accounts.

Claws seems to get "confused" when Thunderbird filters (scripted moves) messages in that a greyed out listing of the message still shows up in claws' inbox, even though the real message is in the appropriate folder. I only mention that because it appears to be the only exception to the perfect sync between the two. EDIT: Seeing as many people use Google's IMAP access to Gmail I should mention this is 1and1's IMAP server, not Google's. |
Re: Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
I am using Claws on Ubuntu 9.10. I have set it up as an IMAP client for my GMAIL account. According to online advice I have set it to use nonblocking SSL but not STARTTSL, and ports 587 and 993 respectively. It does not get my mail, though it offers no error messages or indication of problems. I have successfully used Claws as an IMAP client for a different account. Any suggestions how to debug this?

Re: Claws Mail and Gmail / IMAP questions
anyone got this to work on the N900? If so can you post the settings. I have tried various ones but can't seem to get any emails and no errors are being displayed to help with any debugging.
