How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
Hi everybody, merry Christmas and hapy new year!!!
I just got a simple question for you: how can I install Windows Mobile as Operative System on my N810? I really hate linux and I'd like to have more simple life to find and installing apps. Bye, thank you! |

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
You've come to the wrong place, you can't install windows mobile, perhaps you should return your device. KTHNKXBYE!
|
Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
you cannot change your operating system. you can run emulator software that allows your n810 to run applications compiled for other O.S. If you found a windows mobile emulator, some of your applications may run too slow and use too much system memory.

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
why buy a tablet than runs a linux based OS if u don't like linux? heh. windows mobile is made for ARM so it would be incredibly difficult if not impossible to have it be compatible with our tablet.
the closest thing that could come is dosbox and getting windows ce. heh |

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
Just FYI, the tablets are also ARM. So, WinMo can technically run on a N810.
If it ever does, the world will blow up. Seriously. |

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
Symbian would be a much more realistic bet. In the end it's almost the same HW as a phone.

I think it's easier to find apps for maemo, than WinMo. Just enable extras and install all via app manager, no reason to google any apps, searching from the internet is a painful way to find apps. |
Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
If you guys have an inclination to try a new OS, forget about WM and Symbian -- take a look at Android. Not only is it possible to get it running on our tablets, it actually is. Pretty usable, too.

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
Solcas NITdroid is already a usable choise, and he is really active developer, month ago it was only a experimental thing to try, now there are working wifi, backlight control and more to come :)

hmm question to the OP. what did you intend to install on windows mobile? maybe we could help you out if you told us what you needed. installing things on the tablet doesn't seem to be much different from any other OS. I have a wm phone and i mostly just use it for pim, sms, and web browsing. What did you want to install on your tablet? |

Say, you fellas wouldn't happen to know the command for "ankle bracelet UNLOCK" in Terminal would you? I've tried "sudo gainfreedom ankleunlock" but it doesn't seem to work.
Or even just the command to turn it off... I just want to go to my cousins wedding you see...coming right back. |

Italy, 23 yo, designer, impossible to find good work here...:(

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
I really thought that Italy is a motherland for one of the best design schools of the world. Cars, furniture, cloth, Rome :)

Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
Hmph.
Looks like I found this thread too late to suggest the original poster simply use the built-in Windows-Mobile emulation mode that Nokia thoughtfully provided. To activate Windows-Mobile Emulation Mode in your Nokia N700, N800, or N810 device, simply open the back cover and remove the battery... as if by magic, the device becomes instantaneously as useful and reliable as any other Windows-Mobile device... ;) |
Re: How to install Windows Mobile on N810?
You know, newbies will actually try that and start a new post trying to figure out why they didn't succeed.
