[Canola] Help Please

I'm having trouble with lastfm in Canola. Whenever I try to play lastfm in Canola I get the following message. "An error has occured in your session. The server may be down or you may be experiencing network problems." I have uninstalled canola and run Canola Cleanup but it hasn't heped. This has been going on for over a week. I can select a track and it acts like it is going to play but just as the track is about to start up comes the message. I've checked with my desktop and Lastfm will play on it fine when I have the problem so I'm assuming it isn't a server issue. I've done nothing to change my network connection to my knowledge with the N800. Sooooo any suggestions on what to do? I am using an N800 with the most recent updates. I have a wi-fi connection and the tablet is working fine for all other apps that use my wifi for internet access. I will warn you I am very non technical so please if you can help in the simplest terms possible would be greatly appreciated. I had used lastfm a great deal but now Canola is crippled for me. One final question. How can I get greater volume levels out of my N800? I know I stumbled across something when I was searching the forum but I can't remember what it was. Oh and is there any app that provides an EQ for sound adjustment? Thanks so much in advance for your time and effort.

For last.fm, you'll find Vagalume better than Canola. Install it.

As to volume, you ought to be able to find relevant threads using the Newbie link in my signature.

I would much rather use Canola to be honest. I'm kinda low on system space. I like to be able to switch to radio if I've exhausted my patience with my music.

I'm not sure about the link you posted it open to just a blank page that has search at the top. Was that your intention or is the link not correct?

OneFenris was replying to GeraldKo.

That was his intention. He was suggesting you could easily help yourself with a simple search.

Re: [Canola] Help Please

So i guess the question still remains...

is there a way to get lastfm on conola2 to work with out running all these different program ( which would make it an all in one if not for a few snags). i would like just to simply use a prgram for podcast, internet radio, and maybe some light media playback. but as of now i have to use three differrent programs ( but i guess since i like the look and layout of conola2 that why i wish it would work better for all these things) to get the few things i need.

I'm sure someone out there is getting all of that from just on program, If you could help shed some light on this for me please.

Thanks,

I am also having the same problem as OneFenris. Everything else regarding Canola works great except last.fm. Nothing on the last.fm menu plays, just gives the above message, although the first song does show on the screen and is scrobled into my last.fm library.

I don't believe it's a network problem as I can connect to last.fm using the nokia browser as well as connect with all other laptops/desktops on the same network.

Of course it could be a simple matter of having no clue on using last.fm. I am not a subscriber. Does that mean that last.fm just ignores all play requests from canola?

My system is OS2008 on a N800.

Thanks in advance for for any help.

I am having problems with the Last.fm plugin, but it seems a bit different that this. I installed Canola and the Last.fm plugin in my N800 for the first time. I put my username and password, and it manages to download my friends list, for example. But whenever I try to play anything, I get this message:

"Unable to resolve url. Check your connection and try again."

Any clues?

I wish somebody knew because thats exactly what my main issue was, keeping me from using conola by itself. I use vagalume lastfm to listen to my service. I even pay $9 a month to get the extras so it cant be because of having to pay, if vagalume works i dnt really see why conola wont. i would love it if someone could fix that issue:(

Re: [Canola] Help Please

Oddly enough, this morning I again tried last.fm with Canola and my message has changed to that of nwerneck, "Unable to resolve url. Check your connection and try again."

Needless to say, that is not the problem.

Now that I'm more familiar with last.fm it is obviously a Canola issue that seems to have changed based on something last.fm has has changed regarding their access requirements (otherwise why would the error message change? Canolsa hasn't, so last.fm must have.)

Anyway, I switched to vagalume which works just fine, lacking only a direct way to change volume. I'm looking forward to Canola being fixed since in all other regards it is a very nice piece of software. (My only regret is that I'm not competent enough as a programmer to chip in some help to fix this issue).

Been experiencing those errors lately, I wonder if it has anything to do with the geographic restrictions announced "recently" by last.fm

I would think not, since I connect with every other system and other software on my local network.

I also have this same problem; I click on any LastFm options in Canola and get the message "Unable to resolve url. Check your connection and try again."

Is there any resolution to this issue? I just tried to install the last.fm plugin for the first time yesterday, and am having this same issue on my n800. A search of this site comes up with a few hits, but I wasn't able to find any solutions. I'm running Canola2 Beta 11.
