yeah but for £20 more you can get 100mins & 100txts (free inbound to our American brothers) for 18 months.

I am very tempted by the tmobile Combi 15 + Web'n'Walk deal, £470ish and "unlimited" internet 1gig really but you can often get upto 2gigs

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

I was going to order the T-Mobile 18 months @ £30 with free N900 for 300 mins, 300 texts and data, but the price went up to £29.99 for the handset on this deal so I thought again.

Eventually went for the extra £5 a month for 700 mins and unlimited texts, free N900 and half price first month's line rental. Seemed the best deal to me. It's the Combi 30 + Web'n'Walk one.

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

I'm looking for the cheapest N900 around in UK, and so far I tought the cheapest was this one: http://www.kingofgadgets.co.uk/nokia...one-p-701.html
(taken from here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=32111)
448 £.

What is this "pay as you go" option? I'm not interested in monthly/special plans, since I would use it in Belgium/Italy anyway.
Is that 393 £ total? No additional things you're forced to pay?!? o_O
(I imagine at least some branding?)

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

I think it's 3.99 delivery. Probably not branded or locked, on the Mobile Phones Direct site choose the N900 and select Pay as you go, Vodafone.

Pay As You Talk Mobile Phones let you connect a new handset without a credit check and without signing a contract. There are no unexpected monthly bills; you simply 'top up' your mobile phone with credit...
ok, now I know what "pay as you go" means... incredible, it costs 170 € lesser than buying it from an Italian shop at 599€... o.o
(in Belgium probably more, like 650-699 €...)

Combi 15 + Web'n'Walk looks to be best for me.

I guess it depends on how much someone is going to use the phone side. I just want unlimited net... phone is for emergency's, and occasional chats.

Will that be unlocked
I sent an e-mail to mobilephonesdirect.co.uk the other day asking them if they will be supplying un-branded,un-locked devices -their reply was:

Quote:

The handsets will be unlocked and unbranded, just as Nokia intended them.
And apparently I'll be able to order an upgrade from them for my existing Vodafone UK tariff, getting me a new N900 for £73 and letting me keep my existing number. Result!

Oh, first post as well, so hello everybody! Been lurking for a couple of weeks, you all seem a friendly and knowledgeable bunch. Can't wait until I can contribute a picture to the 'where is your Nxxx device today' thread. :-)

Amazon is selling sim-free and unlocked for £470. That's where I shall buy from if I decide on this device. Not least for the sheer brand-trust of amazon!

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

£448.49 at http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=2346

On my google shopping search they have the best combination of low price and high seller rating with decent number of reviews... Anyone used 'em before?

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

I am not from UK, but I found this. The price is £435.85. Since I am from Bulgaria - this means when it's out it could cost me £600 (of course I will never spend that much). So I will have two options - buy from Europe and don't have warranty or wait the price to drop in my "priceless" country. :( Either way I will get it.

P.S. I could have some mistakes when writing in english, so excuse me, it is not my native language.

On the right-hand side of that page it says "Please note: official price to be confirmed". So I don't think their price of £435.85 means much at this stage.

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

the original poster's pricing of (mobilephonesdirect) less than 400 for PAYG on vodafone seems to have disappeared only to be replaced with £450, the same as the sim-free.

the t-mobile 15/month on an 18 month contract with device costing £141 works out about £411., so it is possible to save money using carrier subsidy if you're careful, but one of the other deals to get the n900 "free" would mean spending £960 over two years!!!

personally, I prefer to buy devices unlocked - sim free - unbranded - so that I know there's been no monkeying around with it to disable features.

a while ago I had friends buy stuff of handtec and were v happy with speed of delivery and lack of issues.

I note that the handtec price is 449 + delivery + vat = £524

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

Yeah, the Handtec price seems to have gone up; it used to be 448 inc Vat. Still, they do have a price-match offer. Not that I care, having ordered from Nokia using the 3 discount codes mentioned on the UK network thread. 8-)

Re: Cheapest Place to Buy Uk N900

Bad news for all of you who were planning on ordering soon, the tmobile offers for the n900 have been taken off Mobilephones Direct, so looks like u guys will have to order with the ore expensive vodaphone ones.

A qustion was asked, i answered.
It is the cheapest place that i have seen in the UK so far.
The codes came from Nokia x2 and don't quite recall where the other code came from i just ordered as fast as i could.

Another reason i answered the question is, just because these codes have been stopped for the moment, there's nothing to stop others from keeping an eye out for ones in the future.

Did i do bad?

well... ordered from nokia with 1 discount code and via quidco for 10% off, on top of that it's through my business account, and with 270 for renewing my contract for 18 months, i am not paying much... i still wish i'd used the 3 discount codes :(
