Thanks for the heads up!!

I am in California, so I'd have to pay sales tax, but I'm traveling out of state next month. I might have to time the shipping to meet me somewhere else. Hmmm....

Love that Newegg.

Has newegg ever promoted a phone like this before? I've been shopping at newegg for a couple of years now while receiving their almost daily newsletters and I don't recall anything like this.

Almost makes you confident in their posted release date.

Arpwatch! Neat Handle!

I don't recall seeing anything quite to that effect.

newegg must be in close partnership on this one. the page is themed on maemo.nokia.com

I ordered the N900 from Newegg. Wish they offered a warranty though.

Yep ordered mine on Thursday. I have being ordering from them for over 4yrs now. I figured they will get the phones in bulk from Nokia. I have a feeling i will be getting mine just about the same time as those getting theirs from Nokia. Only diff is i didn't paying $650 :)

Well, you'll get whatever's offered from Nokia, and your credit card might have purchase protection. But yes, Newegg has never been one for offering anything more than the manufacturer is willing to offer. Suppose it's one of the ways they keep costs down - in most cases, they will refer you to the manufacturer for service.

Re: Newegg in the 900 Business in a Big Way!

If I would be able to order from newegg I would save 260$ compared to what I pay for it here in Sweden. Of course that's partly a result of the low dollar. Too bad they don't ship internationally.. :(

Somebody gotta do it since Nokia refused to advertise the phone here in the states.

Don't they (amazon, nokiausa, newegg, mobilecityonline, buy, etc) all have the manufacture' warranty?

Well I'm pretty sure the manufacturer has the manufacturer's warranty. :D

Newegg itself just has a 30 day replacement policy. If it is anything beyond that you have to deal with Nokia.

just order an extended warranty from Square Trade if you're not satisfied with the mfg warranty.

Hey,
How much was it and what does it cover? Like broken screens and trips in the Pool?

Agreed. I can't imagine Nokia didn't play a part in this kind of advertising. They publish a release date far enough out to give some breathing room, they linked to or absorbed existing maemo/Nokia web space, Newegg is prime advertising space for a device such as this. The geekiest of the geeks shop there- which one of them wouldn't drool over the N900?

I din't think the standard extended warranty covers that, but I remember reading something about being able to add extended damage protection for extra fees when I bought mine.

I bought 3 years for $49.99 on amazon. discounted from $75

Hmmm, I called squaretrade. The warranty is 2 years and runs concurrent with the Manufacturers. So you are getting an additional year plus the damage warranty for $76 and there is a $50 deductable.

Les, go look at Amazon, it's three years for $49.95 with no deductible. I bought the same warranty for the N900. Nice thing is, when bought off Amazon it can be used without actually having to purchase the N900 through Amazon. Of course if you call SquareTrade directly it's going to be cheaper and they'll quote you a different time frame.

Amazon has it set up so their prices are always cheaper then directly from the manufacturer.

Oh, on another note...how's the guide for remote server going? :P

Hi Thanx!

Apache and DynDNS will probably be easier once I see this thing in my hand! :D

Yeah I was a bit sketchy on Amazons Square Trade deal, but hey it worked.

Re: Newegg in the 900 Business in a Big Way!

Yeah, I was surprised they actually didn't give me any problems when I got a SquareTrade warranty for my 770 and I had to return it due to the WSOD. They told me that if it dies again within warranty they would have to upgrade me to a newer model as the 770 is longer being produced. First time I had something replaced under warranty without any hassle.

Ful page ad for N900 on Newegg

First, I have no connection to Newegg, other than I buy a lot of crap there. I'm just really excited to see this...

Today on Newegg I saw a banner for the N900! So I click on it and I get a full page N900 advertisement with a video (hopefully the person in the video has very small hands, otherwise N900 is about 2-feet by 3-feet.)

Full page ad

They're calling it a "mobile computer" which I don't really like, but I'm just happy to see anyone in the US promoting the N900 (let alone any Nokia device.) Price is $559 with free shipping with the release date listed as Nov 14th. Newegg are usually pretty good about release dates, so hopefully it ships on the 14th.

Re: Ful page ad for N900 on Newegg

The video is not a Newegg ad - it is the N900 launch video - released by Maemo when the N900 was first announced.

But nice to see Newegg promoting the N900 is some way - -of course to sell more units :-)

Re: Grab your N900 for $559.99.....

would it be a good idea to switch my preorder to newegg from amazon since I get the feeling that all outlets may be releasing the N900 around Nov 14th.... I'd be switching for price 584.99 with amazon is not bad but i wana save all i can.

Re: Grab your N900 for $559.99.....

Lol, i searched and searched for weeks before settling on Newegg. I'm convince both store will get it around the same time. Amazon might be back ordered and not too many people know about newegg.

The better choice also depends on where you live - if you're in a state like California, where Newegg charges sales tax and Amazon doesn't, you're better off buying from the latter In my experience, Amazon has much faster shipping for nearly the same price.

Well, I'd buy from Amazon, but only for price. If you're looking for fast shipping, if Newegg has something in stock in their CA warehouse, you will often get it in SoCal in less than 24 hours with only standard shipping. (And NorCal in less than 48...)
