I am proud to announce a fully reworked pokerth port has made it to extras-devel for testing! Hurray! (Finally... :o).

Edit:
No, this exact one won't be available for <=diablo... ever :rolleyes:, the correct version of boost isn't available:
And the UI won't fit since <=diablo has that left side bar. (And the corner buttons would need to be reworked since <=diablo devices have a bezel. Get the idea? :o

Wow! That looks so much better than the previous version! :D

Is this all because of the updated "boost" dependency or is it because you're using better hardware on the N900?

Maemo5 has the latest in boost and so will Mer, so this will also be on Mer... whenever that comes :rolleyes:.

Mer looks like it could still take years to develop correctly.

So who should have been responsible for updating boost on Maemo 4?

No idea, I don't play poker to that extent to judge AI ability, and limits in poker? Check it out for yourself and play it on computer, get it here: Pokerth.net

Hmm, not enough memory in target location when I tried to install this...
I guess I need to do some clean up...is this optified? (I guess that is the right question, pretty new with linux and maemo :) )

PokerTH is optified, the boost libraries are not. Unfortunately boost is the much larger of the two.

Would this version be able to play online (host/join servers) similar to the PC version? I'm assuming it should be able to since this is a direct port.

Are you sure you are trying to install the correct package? The version that is in extras-devel installs and runs. Btw, it doesn't depend on libqtcore4 (that package is named "libqt4-core" in Fremantle).

Before telling the extras-devel entry settings please note that you should be careful when installing stuff from extras-devel since the apps there can be more or less unstable causing unexpected issues. You have been warned.

The correct entry for extras-devel is:
Address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
Distribution: fremantle
Components: free

then I have to translate everything. in the videos it is fast to add subtitles, but in the blog...

through extras devel if i remember correctly.
but please be aware. installing from extras-devel could brick your device. so only try this if you know how to reflash it.

I installed it last night...it looks NICE. Everything is running great and i like it A LOT!!!

Something i want to ask:

How do you leave a game that you already join? It seems that if you just go and pick another room even though you're already in a game. It won't let you join another room. And somtimes...when you're in the lobby, you can't scroll and try to pick a room...it froze for no reason?

Another question i have is that....why is the money i won never get stored? It resets every time you start a new game. It'll be NICE if the game can keep track of the money you won and carry it over the next game...because i don't feel like getting rewarded for winning?

Also the chat fonts are invisible. Pretty update that.

Great work! I have been addicted for days now.. Only problem is that the thing isn't optified :( Eats up a lot of space from root partition on N900.

I have installed extra-devels by opening the extra-devels link in http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.php?lang=en in my N810. It seems to have installed correctly and shows up in my application catalog dialog box. However, I can not find PokerTH 7.1 in my application manager... PokerTH 6.3 is the only version listed there. Can you help me get 7.1 installed on my N810?

I know this is a very noob'ish question... but i am not used to download from extra-devel that much... But on an application listed, like this one for exemple, why is there a "data" one as well? And what does it do?

the application is splittet in two files, so that when the application gets an update you don't need to download and reinstall the same gamefiles again.

Any news regarding the boost maintainers and optifying? With the limited amount of root space, it's quite difficult to keep PokerTH installed especially during new firmware updates.
