Total Dealbreaker!

Wasting a few hours of my annual leave on here, I notice a few people have claimed that this or that feature of a device is declared to be a "Total Dealbreaker". So I thought it might be fun to put them all in one place.

(Please note tongue is firmly in cheek here)

What feature, advertising or placement would for you be a 'total dealbreaker' and cause you to cancel an order for any device forthwith? Points will be awarded for creativityand humour, rather than technical wisdom (You can go start your own thread Somewhere Serious for that!)

So... for me?

It would be a total dealbreaker if Katie Price bought one. :p

It's got a stylus instead of a bigger battery... pfft the Nokia designers are so inept! ;) :D

Small battery, big device. That's dumb, do it the other way: Why don't you make the battery larger and the device smaller!

I guess NOOOOKIAAA just want us to keep charging their device every night. Tough luck if you get stucked and lost in a country side. And end up run out of battery while calling up for some emergency services while your GPS is on to tell them your co-ordinate lol.. YOU ARE SO SCREW...

why can't they break every rule of physics?!? it would make n900 million times better!

here are my list of total dealbreakers(aka if some competitor gives some of these before n900 ships, i am thinking of cancelling my preorder):
*device size doesn't change by pinching or double tapping. i want my device to adapt physically for every need i have
*no nuclear battery that lasts 1000 years
*no tube amp and LP-player for HIFI
*doesn't correct and send my tax report signed automatically
*doesn't cook and clean
*doesn't give extra +200HP to my 1.3l mazda2 when plugged to aux-port
*doesn't come with polygamy & 100 hot swedish babes

oooh, such a cruel taunt! Unfortunately likely to be true though. Maybe that would unify the various dates: ship on 9th via royal mail, arrive January!

I don't think its the end of the world as they use Special Delivery which is mostly running on time I believe. At worst, it might not be next day but I doubt it will take more than 48 hours.

Indeed, if only it ran Maemo. I have been using Windows Mobile for 2 and a half years, am seriously fed up with it.

If nothing else it frustrated me how it halts the CPU and WiFi in standby

It doesnt run on Qualcomm 528 MHz processor with 128/256 MB ram

things have changed since then.

1GHz Snapdragon™ processor + 448 MB RAM with compass :o

Wait a minute now: Tube amps have cleaner sound and more power efficient for same amperage output. You may be on to something here! ;)

It does not have a 1ghz snapdragon, so the N900 will be more power efficient with same performance... wait, that is a good thing. Nevermind :)

Now seriously, I own iPhone 3G and although it is jailbroken, I still feel like in jail, it's not open enough and the lack of HWkeyboard is a great miss (no multitasking and etc.). The only bad thing about n900 is the small screen, if it was 4" it would be perfect, now it is almost. HD2 is great, but it lacks a lot of things (HWkeyboard, convenient OS, camera button and etc.). I am still waiting for the real release of N900 to see how it feels in my hands and I haven't decided yet, but I think N900 is the way to go. The only real dealbreaker for me could be the high price of around 600EUR, I would never spent that much.

I'd be very interested in it if that HD2 ran anything other than Windows Mobile.

I guess my dealbreaker is my money going to Microsoft or Sony. (Which is a shame, because that Android Xperia X10 looks really nice too.)

On a more serious not, no full access file browser and no flv support. But both should be addressable by software. Also, email alerts, when opened, don't allow you to delete unless you open them from the email app. And no Nokia messaging in the US, either.

Re: Total Dealbreaker!

To be honest, the dealbreaker for me is proving to be the total inability of Nokia to (a) process payment cards, (b) not raise the agreed price by £30 and then a second time by another £70, (c) ship the device after they say "it will definitely ship to you today" on the phone.

Seriously, if you can't buy it and you get messed around trying, that's something of a dealbreaker isn't it?
