iPhone lovers totally owned

Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
Silly me, i just thought this whole place was about maemo devices
|
Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
Nice to see another intelligent thread in the forum.

Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
Maybe they dont need to pay those Nokia patent royalties after all.

Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
Eheheheh. Nice.

Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
And the conclusion of the article, somehow this thread ignores. Here is the key sentence:
"The fact is, although the iPhone is the worst phone in the world, it's the best handheld computer there is" Yes, it's a dumb sentence, and not true, but it's in the article. Maybe the N900 can take the worst-phone/best-handheld-computer title away from the iPhone. I hope so. |

N900 Blows this kiddy phone away

Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
Again, are we comparing phones or mobile computers?
iPhone might be great in everything else than phoning, but so could N900. Before the "great public" has gotten their hands on N900, I say it is pretty premature to make any global and objective judgement which is which and what is what. |
Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
I find it ironic that the article talks about iPhone's phone capability which is perhaps the weakest part of N900 too... and probably one of its features the NIT fans least care about.
Oh, and most people are turned off by fanaticism and fanboyism in general, even when it's about things they care\love about. |
Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
Sure, the phone featue is the weakest part of the N900, but at least it does work reliably and doesn't have the issues the iPhone has. Lack of features is a different thing than lack of reliability.
|
Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
But feature wise it gets beaten by even entry level phones. You can't even set a ringtone per group or person right now.

Many of these little features will no doubt be added soon. You couln't do much of anything with Android when it was released. It sold anyway. |

I can see how some people would want the extra phone functionality though. |

IMHO, Nokia should get kudos for the unified Contacts and Messaging alone, if not for the rest of Maemo5. |
Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
Still, its hard to argue that a device which "has not come out yet" is better than "a device which has been out some time". :-p
We know the N900 will blow the iPhone and all competition away in many ways. However until its released, nobody is going to realise that. |

Agree; it's tiresome to see all these iPhone posts. If you are that obsessed about them go and buy one and post on some Apple forum? |
Re: iPhone lovers totally owned
My objection to the "it's the best handheld computer there is" wasn't that the N900 should win but it isn't out yet; it was that presumably the N810 and N800 beat the iPhone as a handheld computer.

Even now when you say N900 to someone they're more likely to not know what you're talking about. Nokia is losing smartphone market share faster than my grandma can lose her glasses. And mindshare is just as important as marketshare..and what do people say when they talk about smartphones? iphone. blackberry. and "google phones" (android). very seldomly do you hear "maemo" in the general public (not talking about phone/mid/umpc/nokia geeks) |
