Re: Pushing the limit of the N900
I noticed the music playing went jerky for a along second in Part 1 @ 2:51 right when you see the Youtube video starts loading (with the spinning circle)
|
Re: Pushing the limit of the N900
In Part 2 @ 4:34 you can see the CPU is only running @ around 25-35% despite having 12 applications running in the background.
Impressive! |
Re: Pushing the limit of the N900
Lets see the iPhone do that - great example of why maemo is the superior OS and the n900 the superior phone. Thanks for reminding me why I am waiting.

Re: Pushing the limit of the N900
I'm impressed. 12 apps running at the same time is more than enough, atleast for me. Eagerly waiting to get my own :)
First post wohoo! |
Re: Pushing the limit of the N900
You see... that's what I'm talking about! Anyone saying that an iPhone, Xperia or HTC is better...is utterly stupid...long live the N900!
|
Re: Pushing the limit of the N900
Yeah!!! long live the n900, theres nothing like have a real open source phone, 3g, full web browsing, 32gb and micro sd slot, and a tv out... for me its the killer combination, its a dream come true! LONG LIVE THE N900!

Re: Pushing the limit of the N900

Its NOT multitasking, its just app-pausing. Some apps are, however, allowing real multitasking such as mp3 playback. you can put 100 windows up, the only thing that will happen is that you will run out of swap-space. Same thing goes to all current phones btw, so its not just this one. |

Still, the N900 demos I have seen had several browser sessions running and they were actually active in the icons at the same time (the videos were playing in them). This is AMAZING for a device like this. Another I saw was a guy running programs and using a resource hungry P2P session. That is IMPRESSIVE for a device this size. In summary, the N900 appears to multi-task like a PC does, but it is a misnomer that everything is always running full speed at the same time. PC's do not do this either- all the time for all programs. The N900 is a true mini PC, where as the iPhone is like an ASIC with a display ie (one task circuit). Added: My quad 4 desktop runs into the same problems with Flash and other things running at once. Maemo and the 3430 chipset are a perfect match and a better option than using snapdragon. |
Re: Pushing the limit of the N900
heres the latest video from 30 videos in 30 days series running on conversation, got to love multi-tasking
