So, no talking politics or religion. Are Buddhism and Athiesm political systems or religions? Are the last two sentences no-no's? If not, can someone disagree with me if I say that Buddhism and Athiesm are neither political systems or religions?

I think the latter is more accurate. Just wait till some of these people get their first Linux device and something goes wrong.

I confess it makes me a little sad. I thought the religious discussion was going rather well, and everyone was behaving in a civilised manner.

Mind, my experience of discussing politics and religion online has been coloured by this place, so maybe I'm not an impartial judge of that.

My guess is that when the n900s finally arrive in people's paws there will be more than enough relevent material to discuss, and the need to while away the time in contentious topics will evaporate. Hopefully.

Are n900s created ex nihilo?

Still, people do get offended. Very emotional subject for some, and eventhough it starts out nice, stuff quickly get out of hand. Kinda like discussing parenting with pregnant people :)

Wow, I go away for 6 or 7 hours and the place goes to pot. Blimey.

My +1 to Reggie's post on that other thread... I come here to read about and participate in discussion around Maemo and the associated technology.

Not to put too fine a point on it, what exactly does religion (or politics, frankly) have to do with Maemo? We all have our belief systems, I won't tell you mine because it might offend others, and where does that leave us?
