Delivery in Germany

Does anyone know something about the delivery date in Germany?

Nokia Germany Store: 25.11.2009
some normal German online shops: beginning of 2010
some say: November 2009
some say: January 2010
some say: unknown

I'am disappointed of Nokia because of their information and these news in which they talk about the start of delivery if they just deliver 10 devices...

I really don't get what problems you have.... You already wrote the answer yourself before actually writing the question... What do you expect from this thread? If you ordered from the german Nokia online shop you will get it on 25.11.2009. If you ordered in some "other german store" you will get it at the beginning of 2010... What the hell do you want more???

We have an update to give you now, on the Nokia N900, which has been delayed in Europe. As most of you will know by now, the phone is now available in the U.S but we have been informed that the Nokia N900 will reach customers in Europe from December 3rd onwards.
The news comes from MobilePhonesDirect, who have now started to inform customers via email of the new shipping date. They operate Nokia Retail and have been informed by Nokia themselves that they will have stock ready to ship to customers on December 3rd.
http://www.product-reviews.net/2009/...date-december/

It's getting pretty hard to believe anything concerning its release date

the shipment dates listed in geizhals have been there since before nokia announced shipment, and havent changed since then. that means most german shops didnt receive an official announcement yet.
also, the shipment dates listed would reflect the shipping date for new orders. if you preordered, those dates would not propably mean anything.
expansys has a shipping date shortly after nokia webshop listed. that could mean that other retailers would indeed be shipping a few days after nokiashop.

@ mzanetti: cut the arrogance! you arent helping.

sorry, that wasn't directed at you. I mostly didnt like the tone of mzanetti. I don't get it why people sign up just to drop a single, unfriendly post.

perhaps it's the sudden popularity of this forum.

The logistic center in Netherlands cannot fullfill all the orders from all the Nokia Online Shops at the same time so the shipments propably are staged - different date per country group from the thursday 19th forward.

Largest countries by pre-order as last?

The only problem with expansys.de is that they have the N900 listed with a QWERTY keyboard ... I don't know if this is what most of the germans expect :p

It's hard to wait when some people already write reviews, take photos browse the web with their brand new N900.
I think nokia Germany will start delivering on the 25th of November (which means you'll get it by the end of the next week).
Perhaps amazon.de will start delivery on the 27th, perhaps you'll get it then cheaper and perhaps the N900 could be in your hands next Saturday But perhaps neither Nokia or Amazon will will send out the N900 next week........

Ösis should wait :P (joke^^)

I also orded at computeruniverse.de and their changed the delivery date of N900 to THEM from 27.11.2009 to "unknown" ("Liefertermin leider nicht bekannt (Aktuelle unverbindliche Angabe unseres Lieferanten)") on 10.11.2009.

So I don't know either^^ Hope they get it on 27th anyway! :D

Nobody knows, as long as nokia.de make no official announcements.
Everything is on speculation. If you take the other European status into account I *think* delivery from nokia.de starts at 11-23, so end of week 48 for direct orders from nokia.de and end of week 49 for the others.

I do not think, there is any longer delay.

That's what I think too (regarding joke) ... so I can be the first in Ösis-Land :p

I first ordered at cyberport and changed to computeruniverse on the 16th of oct.
They told me 2 times to cancel my order and keep telling me they don't know anything.
We'll see ... I'm sure the N900 is the far better device than the Droid.
I just bought it because the N900 is not available by now (and nobody knows when) and I need something to play with in the meantime.

Maybe the waiting will have a lucky end soon since the 3 sim bug is told to be resolved.

I guess (really just a guess!) it will be a bit delayed, until the issues with the "Drei" network's SIM cards are fixed.

Or to quote http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/...gins-shipping/:

Quote:

When the N900 launches it’ll be compatible with most networks, although it won’t initially be available on new 3G SIM cards from 3 in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark and Austria – a software update is in the pipeline and is slated to become available before the end of the year.
That said, it's working fine on Orange's network in Austria.

Thanks for that info ... additionally to say: the 3 sim card bug was only for uk networks and nobody knows if the behaviour with 3 sim cards in Austria is the same. It - for example - was no problem in Italy and it is said that older 3 sims are working well too. But who knows exactly until tested.

Nevertheless it wouldn't be a problem for me @ all because I have A1 for work and 3, Orange and T-Mobile sim-only contracts to have some private fun.
The only one who is aware of shipping to countries with 3 networks is Nokia. Just think of the people who will then rail against Nokia. That would be bad publicity for a new high-end device with a new revolutionary OS. ( they know this from the past, I think  )

I only wish they would have been a bit more authentic in giving dates. This - mystical behaviour - pushes the hype for some time but will then suddenly change to rage distress and resignation. :(
( I know this ... I ran through all of the above mentioned steps :D )

My problem is, I don't know with which device I should draw the line in the sand...

Palm Pre is very slow from what I saw in the videos. But maybe IS an alternative. But I don't know if you can use BT for file transfers and the 8GB limit is...

iPhone It is a good phone. I had one, but you can only use it with a jailbreak. Otherwise you are fenced into a cage... a nice one but still a cage.

Motorola Droid Android is maybe a good operating system, but I had a HTC G1 an well... it will never have Android 2.0 or 1.6 so why did I bought this thing when it is outdated in 6 months?!

HTC HD2 Looks good, but well... I don't like Windows Mobile. And if you look at the cpu clock... it is crazy what power you need for running this operating system smoothly and well... I remember the batteries in HTC Touch Pro, G1 and HD... forget them :D

So only device left is the N900 and the waiting for it...

For the US, http://mobile.engadget.com/2009/10/0...t-mytouch-3gs/ says something different. For Germany, http://www.golem.de/0910/70579.html reports the same.

What I'm interested in is... seems like every country is being offered some rebate or discount through the online Nokia store for whatever reason. Is the online Nokia Germany shop offering any special offer or something to reward us for our patience and understanding?? I'm to the point where I will cancel my Nokia pre order and go to yagma.com or some other online handy shop where I can save €100 but get it later.

The IPhone is something I would never buy ... you cannot change the the battery and if jailbraked the battery wont last long
data transfer only with Apple Software,
no expansion slot for sd(hc) or other cards,
....

I do have a G1 (developer edition) and I was running 1.6 for a while, but then switched to cyanogen mod where most of the 2.0 feature are ported to G1

Last but not least ... Windows phones (till 6.5 so far) are a no go for me ... and I don't think this will get better with version 7 / only home screen look nice and is finger-friendly

THATS THE PROBLEM.

For me and possibly others, the N900 has less flaws then the competition NOW, that doesnt mean the situation isnt going to change in the future.

I'm really hoping Nokia get their finger out and we can all get down to business.

I'm so sick of it.
Yesterday I've been on the verge of buying an iPhone (again) but could resist...
Will buy one if Amazon doesn't start shipping my N900 within next week..

I feel somehow sorry to consider buying an iPhone but I just cannot use my crappy old phone any longer, cannot wait any longer, don't want to be watching all other countries get it while we do not and just don't want to be pissed off by that any longer..

This would also release me from checking these stupid websites 5 times a day, in order to find out anything about the N900's release..

Amen brother! We feel your pain and sympathize with you completely! But we have have faith that it will be next week. Seems like the 25th is a consistent date being told here in Germany. Let's all hold hands now and pray for the delivery of our own N900 that will save us from the temptation of buying an iphone....

God..eerr... I mean Nokia, we come to you with hope in our hearts that all of your delivery prayers will soon be answered. We have had difficult times and at some points during this long and frustrating journey we started to lose faith. Even though you presented video after video on youtube and countless reviews, we still questioned your infinite marketing.. uumm... wisdom on holding out and not purchasing an HTC or Droid. Actually I believe that the N900 is just a big marketing joke.. It does not exist.. Everyone claiming to have received his/her N900 is an employee of Nokia and was paid to do so. :)

We will never receive our N900s
