I wanted to make a thread where the more experienced maemo users can bless us with their knowledge :D

& help those like myself who can not find definite answers via the search.

For instance

I have transfered some mp3s for my windows media player. All of which, have accompanying album art on wm. However once transfered to the N900 some show up with the album art but most do not?

How do I change that so that all mp3 show up with album art?


Secondly how/where do I get the Nes emulator on my N900?

All information and help is greatly appreciated!

one question i hv is that if u minimize media player while the video is being played should it stops or remain playing

Mixing up everything in one thread makes it very noisy and makes me not subscribe to that thread. I prefer to have separate threads for separate questions. And the word "Official" is... weird. ;-)

Well some have been using maemo for sometime now and I just wanted to create a thread where they can answer questions rather than having each user creating a separate thread every time they had a question.

The N900 board is already saturated with such thread imho

The nes / snes emulator I believe is in the extras devel repo. NOT quite ready for main user release.

PS... just how official is this thread? specific release by maemo or nokia??

I have to agree with andre, threads like this make the forum messy. If there is a thread for each question / issue, search works wonders. Golden nuggets of information may get lost in threads like this forever.

I've seen it on countless vids on youtube and assumed it was ready to download.

just 2 quick questions:

-what kind of charger does it use? mini-usb? micro-usb?

-does IM support aim/yahoo/msn as well? or are there downloadable apps for this?

Charger is micro-usb...

I'm not sure about IM support but I know you can get msn app which integrates into it and dunno about yahoo/aim

For the default Chat application I haven't seen Yahoo yet, and I never understood the difference between AIM and ICQ...

Pidgin has been ported though and is currently *tested* in the "Extras-Testing" repository/catalogue.
Note that software in Extras-Testing IS NOT meant for end-users as software can drain your battery, destroy your data, ...
Wait until Pidgin has reached "Extras" instead after having made sure that it's "safe".

Agreed - though as these questions pop up, we really need to add them into the beginers guides.

Would it be possible to have a sticky at the top of the n900 forum asking people to add the answers they have received to the official wiki, that way we can build up a reliable source of info very quickly..
I have seen a few questions that I have noted and will add to the wiki when I get home tonight..

What does everyone think?

It is - and we are now in the position to start seriously filling the FAQ with the questions people are frequently asking (was a bit tough when few people had a device to ask about!)

Please jump into the wiki with any questions - and answers if you've recieved them. Failing that, PM the Q and A to me, and I'll do it.
