I have tried audio chat on Skype and it didn't work for me.
For video chatting the flash on N900 doesn't even recognize there is a webcam...

Wow - I don't know about the N900, seeing as that has a built-in IM app, but this is miraculous for my Kindle - I can now use it to talk to people over Skype! I wish they would make a N900 app though as they did for iPhone and Android. Probably just wishful thinking though...

I have tried both skype call and video calling. both of them worked on my phone. The only problem was with skype video calling. The video quality was poor. You need to stand below a strong light for the other party to see you.

Just texting. Voice talking would be difficult to implement since Amazon still hasn't released the API for the Kindle's microphone. But since most of my IM contacts are on Skype, and the Kindle has free 3G, this is still big news to me.
