Hell, every other retailer has a thread.....


But seriously.... I along with several others of you have ordered from Buy.com as of this morning for $599 with the phone allegedly in stock. Resold from vendor Datavis.


I have not seen the most positive reviews of this reseller, but at the same time I am taking the risk. Seeing as how this is not a huge etailer like Amazon or Newegg, I think it is necessary that we keep one another updated.

As of right now I have received confirmation from Buy.com and Datavis.

When I check my order on buy.com I see "order processing will ship in 1 to 2 days"


When I check my order on Datavis' website:

Status: A

is the only info I see.

Does anybody have anything different? Or does anyone know what A means other than A being the first step/primary letter of the alphabet?

Don't get your hopes up. I preordered from buy.com in Oct and my phone has not shipped yet. It shows status as "in shipping process". Its been stuck there since Nov.

Ah you're killing me, was your order through buy.com or their reseller Datavis? I ordered when it showed "in stock" at 5:30 am this morning.....don't ask:p

Well I guess what I meant was is your order being fulfilled by Datavis or buy.com?

Do you have an order # and the ability to check your order on Datavis.com? If so, what information can you get from that?

Datavis (aka Datavision) does not have that good a reputation:

Buy.com will work with you if you have a problem with one of their marketplace vendors. Unfortunately, problems probably don't include "still haven't shipped".

Holy Tit...... Hellen Keller Bike, we didn't see the fifth sweep coming....

The order I placed with buy.com (Datavision) at 5:30 this morning is now marked as shipped, complete with tracking number etc. Has not updated in buy's system yet nor have I received the shipping info in my email yet..

im thinking of cancelling my order on buy.com. I preordered mine on oct 11 and still nothing. Is Nokia USA always in stock?

I'm gonna let you finish..... but I just wanted to say that Datavis has shipped my N900 via 2nd day air UPS and it should be here friday.

Total paid: $62x (don't even care right now)

I thought it was just buy.com, my order info tells me nothing. I paid the 559.99 on oct 11. I see now they have many resellers. This is no good.

Nschuyler, I also bought on buy.com (datavis). I believe I even bought it few hours before you did.

But I chose free shipping, and no news so far... did they update the status on their page, or on buy.com or something? I still have the A that I have no idea what it means...

What shipping option did you chose?

Well you probably preordered from buy.com... in which case it really was just buy.com and you're waitng for them to get stock.

I bought when it was said to be in stock, via their reseller. So i technically bought from datavis.

So i dont know what to tell you. I have no estimate or knowledge of when buy.com will actually have it.


DDrayton: As far as shipping.... I paid for the more expensive/faster shipping. Did you check your order status on datavis.com? I haven't received an email about shipping yet.

So, checking the tracking number, it says it will arrive on 04/12. I saved $20.00 using free shipping :p

I canceled my buy.com order from September and ordered it directly from nokia. with the 50 dollar mail in rebate I got it cheaper since I reserved it early, Sure enough two business days later it was at my doorstep. Order from Nokia if you need it now.:D Buy.com takes forever

Yes, thanks to the person who originally posted the tip (in another thread, I forget which now).

I ordered directly from the Datavis site and selected overnight shipping, in hopes that I would be prioritized over the Buy.com orders. I was able to apply a $20 off coupon, so my shipping was essentially free. I will try to apply the rebate also, which will bring the price down lower than what NokiaUSA offered me (if they ever managed to resolve my ordering issues). But as it stands, I'm still paying about the same as if I went with Nokia--so I'm happy with that.

Oh, and I have the N900 package in my hands right now, so it looks like it worked out. (I just hope I don't have to return it, since their CS is reportedly terrible)
