Dual sim card adapter for N900?
 

Hi,
waiting for my N900 to be delivered I was wondering if it was possible to use a dual sim card adapter for the N900? Any Experiences ?

I never use sim before. Do you actually need one for Tmobile?? And where can you get it?? ANY SIM FROM STORE?

I thought US CDMA phones didn't have a sim card.

You probably have but did not know. If you have ever used any GSM phone services, you have more than likely used a sim card before. T-mobile and AT-T are the two notable GSM providers in the USA. If any of these provided you with phone service before, you have used sim card.

Yes. Sim card is needed to use T-Mobile phone service.
When you sign-up for T-mobile service, you'd be sent one.

Or, you can always go to T-mobile store to get one.

Thanks, I know many of these offers but it often says "the Nokia N900 has not been fully tested yet", so I hoped some forum member may have tested it already.

Hi there...

I actually finished testing my N900 dual sim adapter test!!!

The Adapter works, but I am not able to switch between the sim cards because i can not find any menu point on the N900 for sim services!!!

Maybe Maemo does not support any sim services???

Is somebody able to write a programm wich can simulate this sim services???

I am also interested in dual sim adapter for my (as yet undelivered) N900. In S60 the dual sims add a small app to Applications folder that allows changing from one to other sim - still not an ideal solution (calls to other number must be redirected prior to changing sims so as to maintain incoming calls), so kind of defeating the purpose! Ideally both sims would be active at once.....like on the asian dual sim phones. This would require some coding I expect. Any coders interested?

PatricSTAR is your kit the 'cut' type or 'ribbon' type? I'm interested to know how it fits? Ta.

Hi...

My Card adapter is the Magic sim card 23th and its a cut type!!!!

If you like to have 2 sim cards online at the same time, you need 2 transmitter units in one mobile...
I think there is no way to get 2 sim cards work at the same time in N900....

Does anybody have an idea how i can switch between the sim cards like in my old N95 8GB please let me know!!!!

I am thinking about an programm witch simulates the menu from Sim card adapter like it is in S60 3rd....

Maybe I am going to sell my N900 if this is impossible, because i hate nothing more than using two mobiles!!!

The magic sim 23th is a little bit big, but i fits in the N900 SIM slot...:cool:

Maybe I am going to try one of the sim cards witch switch between the sim cards by powering off the mobile???

But I am not sure if there is one witch supports 3G.... :confused:

Damn...I have been using dual sim adapters since my N70, and now I am trying to use it on my n900, and the thing is, it works, but like our friend mentioned before, there is no menu for sim services, so I can't switch lines...:(
Any help on that would be deeply appreciated!!:D

I have multisim and seems that only way to change to number in use is powering of N900 and type respective pin code for number I want to use.

I think it is not impossible to create such a programm...

I am only not able to do it!!!!!

Yes, needs to turn off as the multisim requires pin code, symbian phones has icon multisim and by typing the masterkey I get the choice of numbers and again there I need to type respective pin.

I have MultiSim ( usb dongle to copy all sim's to pc and write them to mustisim) up to 10 numbers, This only works with Ver1 sims and yes 3G works OK.

we asked the developer of the hypercard 3G:

answer: "at the moment, they have no hardware to test. it is possible to change the simcard with a "quick code". the quickcode is not a ussd-code."

what ever a quickcode will be.

i think you need a sim tool kit for using a dual simcard adapter

Hi, for many years i wanted 2 mobile numbers on 1 phone!

I looked at dual sims but they only worked one at a time!

Then i discovered truphone! never looked back!

2 mobile numbers fully operational on 1 phone both at the same time. 1 number for friends 1 for work ! great!

hes there been any development regarding the dualsim?? I bought a magicsim 23th-B non-cut and it says to use the quick codes "001" "002" etc. to switch and use its functionality.. though they don't seem to work. any help regarding this?
