+0.5

How about a poll? I don't need it, but I guess it would be useful for talking about some things only related to German-speaking countries.

Re: Any Chance for German Sub Forum

i would like to have an german sub forum becouse the N900 is just in the "roll out" for germany and a lot of users will need help and maybe have good solutions or ideas. About the technical complexity of the device it would be better and easyer if they could discuss there ideas and maybe problems *hopefully more ideas* in there own native language.

best regards

The problem is: How many german speaking developers are there which are willing to follow a german subforum *besides* the "normal" talk.maemo.org forums? How many people are willing to pick up on ideas which are posted to a german sub-forum and make them available to a larger audience? How many threads will be unanswered, because the people "in the know" don't speak german?

I'm all for it if people want something like that, but let me play devil's (no, not you) advocate here.

I think some people will talk in german AND english. So perhaps some better english speaking germans (in other threads) could help other germans (in the german threads).

Sorry, but voting for "No" was way more fun, having German as my mother tongue. :-P

Re: Any Chance for German Sub Forum

I don't see the point. I'm a german speaker, but if people stick to one language on the internet, more people can profit. I don't see any problem with people talking in their respective language in a single thread (like the delivery in germany thread) as other people will hardly care about the content.

With subforums it's mostly the case that people who can speak English well will just use the English forums for their questions, announcements, etc. because there's a greater audience, while only a few people who don't want to bother writing in English will use the subforums. language specific forums are usually a very boring place to be.
