Clarivue Screen Protectors Now Available

Hey guys, I just got an email from Clarivue letting me know that their screen protectors for the N900 are ready to ship.

In my opinion, these are the best screen protectors out there. I had on for my iPhone and one for my E71 and they are great. They're so clear they're practically invisible.

Here's a link in case anyone is interested.

Clear is good but the issue is does it protect the screen?

I prefer anti-glare though.

Yes, I used them on my old N97 and they're quite durable in terms of scratch protection. Good price too. That said, I wasn't impressed with the fit on the N97 - there seemed to be too large a gap on the edges.

The Vikuiti DQC-160 I have now is great - the best fit I've yet to see on a screen protector. Maybe a little too good - there's no room for error when applying it as there little-to-no gaps when applied properly.

Have you ever used Zagg? If so, then you are probably ok with the rubbery texture. But if you haven't, make sure to read around and take advantage of the many options now available.

Also, wtf is your chinese comment supposed to mean?

Which one did you get, the anti-glare or the ultra-clear version? How's the fit -- does it cover the entire screen or leave out room for the earphone and other sensors on the left? How well does it protect againt grease and fingerprints?

I got the anti-glare... fits the entire screen perfectly with a cut out for the earpiece. So far no grease fingerprints. I love it.

I read that the anti-glare version "fogs" or "dims" the screen somewhat when compared to the "ultra-clear" version... but supposedly this version has the donwside of being more fingerprint friendly!

Anyway, how about touch / stylus sensitivity, did you lose any sensitivity with this screen protector?

i noticed they have mirror and privacy finish as well. those would be quite good to have but would make the screen foggy and dim as well i'd guess

Should I take this to mean that the Clarivue's do not have the rubbery texture? I hate the rubbery texture, and this is why I have always avoided screen protectors on past devices.

Does the anti-glare have the same texture? or is it rougher?

Lol chinese is chinese. I'm also a dependence of chinese :P + Cambodian. So It is not racist since my grampa and great grampa is chinese right? lol. But yeah most chinese made gone bad after a few month. I don't mind rubbery texture feeling, just as long it protect my device. My screen is already have a few light scratches and its only been 4days. WTF.. that is without screen protector.

10More days till my screen protector arrives. It's been 11days since the day they shipped it.

Too Chinese is a stupid comment...even if you're Chinese. Either you're stupid or you're racist.

I can't say that I lost any sensitivity. Like I said, I am quite pleased with the protector.

I just got the ultraclear version... after some use, I'd say no loss of clarity but certainly "slight loss of sensitivity".

On a screen without cover, you can drag / swipe with the tip of your fingermail in smooth gestures... with the Clarivue protector on, the smooth gestures need to be more deliberate / firm to work.

So yes, there's a bit of a tradeoff! :-(

--denis

Edit: And yes, this "ultraclear" Clarivue protector is sensitive to fingerprints... as for resitance to scratches, we';; have to see!

Re: Clarivue Screen Protectors Now Available

I bought the clarivue and had to sacrfifice then first one die to my mistake i placing it - too many bubbles underneath because of the dirt and a hair stand.

So on the 2nd (and last) protector I used a clear scotch tape on the clarivue protector back side to remove any dirt and also on the N900 screen to remove all dirt and dust particles. This works much better than using a cloth to clean. This one went on fine and it is not a clean and smooth protector. Very nice and no loss of sensitivity as far as I can feel.
This is the glossy type version that I bought.

I just ordered one as well and will reply back on how its application will go. I'm usually not very good with screen protectors and always manage to get air bubbles trapped so fingers crossed

Just ordered mine. Free shipping and theres a coupon on retail me not so it came out to be just under $10.

Now the question is, when my n900 gets here should I put it on immediately before even touching the n900? Hopefully they'll arrive on the same day, I'm not sure if i can wait:)

Re: Clarivue Screen Protectors Now Available

I suggest putting it on immediately to protect the screen.

When I got my N900, I made a screen protector out of the screen protectors for digital cameras (which was ugly as hell) until I got the clarivue I ordered.

IMHO, the screen is the main component, which only makes sense to protect it best as you can.
