Hi

Two times I have added info from facebook via. Hermes and manually added photos to other contacts. Both times it has worked fine for a while but then suddenly the info and pictures disappears. Anybody knows what might be happening ?

I hijack this thread and want to ask where I can reset all the hermes settings. I manged to validate a friends account who had been playin with my n900. I tried uninstall it and reinstall it but it seems to remembert the account..

Have you run Hermes again? Or are you saying all the web page info and pictures added by Hermes and the pictures you've added manually outside Hermes have disappeared?

If so, this sounds like a very odd bug in the Maemo address book API (libabook). Can you export one of the contacts which was affected as a vCard, anonymise it as you see fit and post it for inspection?

For reference, until a GUI is added (enhancement request welcome ;-)):

1) Open X Terminal
2) Run the following commands:

Any idea why Hermes would pull some of my contact's birthdays and not the others? They all have their b-days showing on their profile, so I can't figure out why it only pulls some of them.

I think it has to do with your Facebook friend's privacy setting, since Hermes is using Facebook's API.

Any idea why Hermes puts all of my facebook friends into my N900 contacts list?

I dont want this, I have around 250 facebook peeps, but only around 50 contacts i want in my phone,,, thats a lot of people to ift through and delete once hermes has done its thing,

Cant it just pull the info for my existing contacts?

The only time Hermes will add a new contact is if:
  • they have a birthday exposed
  • you have ticked Create birthday-only contacts

That's its primary use case, so if you don't have "Create birthday-only contacts" ticked; the contacts have come from somewhere else (e.g. a Facebook chat plugin).

Hi,

i am having an issue with Hermes. I have previously retieved info for some of my contacts using Hermes.

Now when i try to either retrieve or refresh it requests that i validate with facebook but then the browser fails to open.

ANy idea how to resolve?

Can you run /opt/hermes/bin/hermes in X Terminal and paste the output? Are you using Browser Switchboard?

hi guys i just updated the new hermes version,and i retrieved the contact list but right now i have more then 500 contacts in my phone when before i had only those contact already saved on my phone :-(
how can i delete those new contact??

please help me

i actually want all my friends birthdays in my phone, but hermes doesnt update or even fetches them from facebook, and i DO have birthday-only in facebook profiles :S

what to do?

Known bug. Vote for #11103, or submit a patch. I guarantee it's a one-line fix; I just haven't looked to see which line yet!
