Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
Hello,
I ran into the error/bug described above. With the purpose of stopping the battery drain and error messages I did a: Apt-get remove calendar It worked as planned but i found it was not possible to reinstall the calender application through the standard repositories Any one can help with this? |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
If I were you I'd report that problem in Bugzilla and send some core dumps to Nokia for analysis by Crash Reporter!
|
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
i had a similiar problem with the camera...but a restart solved it

Dear Scooty, your problem is too big for my little knowledge, I'm so sorry I cannot help you! My suggestion is to report your problems to Bugzilla, even if you can't understand the totality of the answers! Maybe Google Translate can help you in the understanding, I think that you can try. If I can help you in any way, just ask.

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
After reflash/reset using the NSU the Calendar was empty and working. Then I re-synced with outlooke and it seemed to work for some time.
Now the "internal error ..." message is back again! I have found the following: 1) Running Calendar from command prompt returns "Segmentation fault" 2) Tried to use calendarctl and deleting ALL calenders worked - and calender opened ONCE. Then back to "segmentation fault" 3) Deleting all files under /home/user/.calendar is NOT a fix Anyone has the same problems? |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
KHD,
I have the same problem. Starting after i was installing and uninstalling the libagg-dev package. I thought it was because of the Calendar widget, so I removed it, but the problem remains. I really prefer not to reflash, as I did it twice already, and it takes a lot of time to reapply all the installations and tweaks. Did you managed to solve this issue? |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
Do you have 3rd party applications installed? Only from maemo.org Extras, or also from the unstable repositories?
|
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
Ok.i've tryed just like you,and the results where just like yours. On my old pc O.S (*ind*ws *p x86) NSU allways freez at 15 min remaning,so changed my pc os ( 7 x64) here NSU does not work, not even install.....so i think i have to install xp on other partition only for this.....when i will do all i will post.I have to mention that now,in therminal,i can not install any app says "dpkg: 'ldconfig' not found on PATH.
dpkg: 1 expected program(s) not found in PATH. NB: root's PATH should usually contain /usr/local/sbin, /usr/sbin and /sbin." |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
No fix seems to be available for this calendar bug.
Only items from maemo extras are installed, not experimental or outside repositories used. I have not dared to sync my N900 with Outlook since the last reflash for this reason http://talk.maemo.org/images/smilies/confused.gif However, I noticed that the problem can be related to changing the timezone (and thereby updating the calendar appointments automatic) Quote:

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
timezone...i used "automatic" and still have this error, but when i disabe "automatic" it shows me washington :| ,i've put bucharest, but still the same.Strange is that when ii send sms it allways show my sms that were send 2 hours ago (if i send an sms to 22:00 the sms appears 20:00) don't know why. (sorry for a bit off topic :) )

It has now been working nicely for one day and the theory of the time zone selection being the cause of trouble is growing. The calendar application broke when I changed time zone from GMT+3 to GMT+1 (being set to automatic, but travelling) For now I will stay put and watch the outcome..... |

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
I have the same problem :( this notification box appears every 5 seconds or so and I cannot use the calendar at all :( I have installed libgcc and libc6 not so long before the problem started... Weirdly, I have noticed that the system time got reverted 1 hour backwards,
I have changed it back to correct local time and I assume that the internal error notification problem started to appear after that... help anyone? Cheers, Ralph |

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
I also have the same problem. I did:
apt-get install libgcc1 apt-get install libc6 After that my calendar permanently crashed. I removed the dashboard widget but still got the message. I had to uninstall the calendar to get rid of the message. The good thing is: you can reinstall the calendar. The bad thing is: Then you will get the error message again. I have read a few posts saying that importing all the your calendar events might fix the problem but I didnīt have the time to figure out how (...with a crashing calendar). Seems like libc6 still has some incompatibilities. libc6 resides inside the dev-repository, right? That might explain a lot. UPDATE: I just installed the OS upgrade via Nokia Software Updater which virtually killed everything I had previously installed. Calendar is working again and I havenīt got any error messages so far. What bugs me is that I have to reinstall every single package now. But there are many ways to cover that. |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
It's unfortunate that some core binaries have debugging symbols disabled, else we could solve sigsev issues on-device with gdb.
:( |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
I started getting this problem earlier today after the n900 reset itself while gPodder was downloading. I reset afterwards when I got to work and noticed that user had become read-only and started getting this error along with a lot of error messages about being out of storage (file manager reported several hundred MBs free). I tried several different things that might have caused the problems without luck.
Re-flashed the device, both errors are still occurring and I am unable to restore a backup because of the out of memory error. It almost seems like permissions issue affecting tracker as the media player isn't picking up on files. Could a permissions issue persist through a re-flash, and could that make tracker and calendar break? |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
Did you also reflash the embedded MMC? You've got stored cache files that aren't wiped after flashing flashing a FIASCO image.
When I had this issue, I 86'd the calendar database, rebuilt it and then imported it. Worked after that. |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
I couldn't find instructions on that, is that what the --cold-flash option does, or is there a separate image file that I need?
Found it, thanks. It seems to have worked. |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
Have the same issue with the clock instead of the calendar (which I had also, but only twice) and it seems that this only occurs after going online so blaming the timezone update seems to be a good bet.

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
I have the same problem with the internal app error for the calendar, but also at the same time getting the 'device mem. full unable to send\recieve sms' notice.
I reflashed just 2days ago to solve the latter, yet here it is again! I'm on the edge of getting rid of this device as i seem to be spending half my time just trying to get it to work properly! Regardless, has anyone got any fixes?? Cheers |
Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
DeLoad and TheBurek. You two have helped more by saying what you did. I also installed a updated libc6 before I ran into these problems. I also did 'apt-get upgrade -f'... then proceeded to reboot to run into this calendar problem. I've submitted a bug report with more details here: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10850
If anyone else has info on what they did that led up to the cause of the problem, we may find a solution to fix it... or atleast prevent it from happening again. Thanks for posting everyone! |

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
I have a similar issue, but this is for the settings. What triggers this error is by switching the notification sounds in profile. After a few switches the error would come up, but it will say for settings. Then it would close the window, but the error only happens when switching the sounds in profile.

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
Hey... there's a "vote for this bug" link on the page. If you guys would be kind enough to open this page https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10850 and vote for the bug we may get some one from Nokia to notice and possibly make a fix for it.

Re: Internal Error.Application "Calendar" closed.
From my experience it was a libc6 issue. After upgrading it it caused many applications to not function and used up system resources. My fix was simply reflashing the rootf fiasco image as explained here http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware
You will need to reinstall any apps you want. |
