So is N900 availeable on contract/subsidized anywhere else besides Finland?

Finnish operators started shipping N900s in early December. You can currently get it subsidized from three out of the four large networks.

I noticed that some UK networks will start offering N900 in January, but is availeable or announced anywhere else?

In the Netherlands shops get subsidized by operators if they sell a contract including a phone. If I buy an N900 with a TMobile 20€/month contract for 1 year the phone's about 300€

3 in Sweden will sell it, and in many other stores and can get it subsidised with any operator, same as with most phones (just like in NL above)

02 in the UK also originally subsidized it too :) - then voda did some form of deal, meaning vodafone was the only supplier for a while :) - think that will all change next week though :) - looks like with any new firmware release it may go public :)

Well I think they give you some free stuff... I wouldn't know... not even sure about the price. Could be wrong.

Ok went to their site and checked:
Povezani 44/77: 44/77eur/mont and 329 for the phone
Povezani 33/55: 33/55eur/month and 389 for the phone
Generic subsidy: 429 - i.e. take any contract for 2 years
Full price: 619
Code:

Monthly    | 33€    | 44€    | 55€    | 77€
Vid calls  | 1000min | 1000min | unlimi  | unlim
Other nets | 33min  | 44min  | 100min  | 200mi
Landlines  | 333min  | 444min  | 1000min | unlim
SMS        | 33      | 88      | 55      | unlim
MMS        | 33      | 88      | 55      | unlim
Data      | 1 GB    | 1 GB    | 5 GB    | unlim

The folowing are some extra services I have no clue what they are about but for the 77/month they are free some are even free for lower priced ones.
M:Stik/M:Povsod Integral Integral Poslovni BlackBerry BIS
BlackBerry BES BlackBerry BES+BIS

I use Si.Mobil - a Vodafone partner - always have and probably always will - bought my N900 at the local Nokia store for 619eur and pay 4eur/month for cell service and 18eur/month for 20gb data service.

Didn't Finland use to have a law against "subsidizing" phones, or was it just against locking them to an operator?

If so, can they lock the phone to an operator now?

(or did I dream it?)

I know there is law against subsidizing non 3G phones or locking them down, but not really relevant anymore. Operators can lock the phones, but i have no idea how common that is as all my phones have been unlocked.
