Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
This phone is like the best phone EVER...did you hear me EVER! Yes I'm a little drunk as I type this from my N900 because it's New Years, but so what, this phone kicks ***... where else can you play old school sega, snes, nes games, it's frakingfantastic. I've had no problems, well the few problems I did have, a full battery charge solved them.
Plays Xvid and Divx movies, I can select full songs as my ringtone, I can tether to my computer and use the HSDA or w/e it's called connection on my laptop--I've got equirectangular desktop so it's constantly being AWESOME when I move desktops, my battery life last forever, and everywhere I go ppl are like "wtf is that awesome phone?" to which I reply "it's a ****ing N900 and no you can't have it". Anyways, done with my New Years rant, time for more Irish Car Bomb's followed by shots of Patron. I <3 my maemo phone, community, os. |

Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
My thoughts exactly - I am delirious! Happy New Year and hopefully it will be a great one with the coolest phone ever :D

Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
can you buy it at the PC store? at the internet tablet store? no.
you buy it at the phone store. so it is a frigging phone. What is a higher level tech thing, a phone or a internet tablet? without phones there wouldnt have been things like internet tablet since there wouldnt have been internet. so the phone part is the most significant. therefor it is a phone. it is a damn phone not a this not a internet tablet or ultra mobile personal computer thing or whatever just a fkkn phone. just has internet email sms im camera videocam videoplayback calendar notetaking games emulator pictureviewer radio remote mp3player and what not as well but it remains a phone. if you say it is an internet tablet one could also say it is a calendar. so no its not an internet tablet not a calendar its a phone. |
Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
My computer can make calls via landlines/gsm, doesn't make it a phone. In this age, all the tech is being blurred so much its hard to categorize them. Therefore its easier to just go with the flow of who ever is addressing it at the moment, no need to go correcting each other. There is nothing stopping a computer shop from selling an N900. Hell, the mobile shops are even selling Netbooks subsidized, they ain't phones right? So lets just get over this stupid argument of phone/tablet/mobile computer whatever.. already, its pathetic.

It's a phone.
|
Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
It's not a phone for me, as my 3 SIM doesn't yet work. It works like a computer here.
|
Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
I like phablet -- it's phabulous!
|
Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
You're not only drunk but delirious too. You're like when they show an icecube to a bushman - honestly but outdatedly surprised. Get over it. By the time I finish this post, there'd be 5 new smartphones out there to trump the N900.

Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
I can't agree with those calling it "phablet": it's so evident the N900 is a tablone, nothing else... ;)

Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing

Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
It's a phone, for the following reasons:
1. You use it for browsing the internet 2. You use it for installing applications on 3. You use it for instant messaging Same as the iPhone. Nobody ever said the iPhone wasn't a phone (not even taking into account the obvious: that it has "phone" in the name). So the N900 is a phone. If you're in an emergency and someone shouts "does anyone here have a phone?", would you just go "nah, I only got this N900, so no phone"? Do you carry another device with you that you use as a phone and then you use the N900 for other stuff? Why would you? If the N900 replaces your previous phone, then it's a phone. And yeah, all the above is just my opinion. I agree that the line is blurry, but to me, the N900 is definitely a phone. |
Re: Omgomgomgomg i love this thing
nobody said its not a phone, Nokia just put more priority on the computer functions of it rather than the phone functions, making it better as a computer than as a phone. But yea, its definitely a phone
