There's a bug tracker for this kind of stuff. It doesn't support emoticons, so you might have trouble communicating there, but it's the most direct way to get your problem looked at.

ii flashlight-applet 0.3-0

But you mean you open the cam cover, the apps starts, you background or kill it and than you don't see the flashlight on/off in the power menu?
That is working here, for other features, i don't know.

now I can not use flashlight when camera is running.I have to close camera in order to use flashlight. For this reason it has now become impossible to use flashlight during video recording.

My guess is you have geotagging turned on.

Due to limited space, you need to turn off geotagging or some other status applet you need (e.g. load) then you'll have flashlight replace it. Not ideal, but this is the easiest way I've found w/out messing with /etc/hildon-desktop/status-menu.plugins since that got too messy for me to deal with all the time.

Would be nice to have a simple gui in setiings to allow you to choose what you see and priority since many some of us never need (like profile you can easily choose via pwr button/dropdown and I don't need to see the mfe status all the time), but haven't bothered with an enhancement request.

Maybe I'll do that and post it back here.

There was a bug I reported on the other thread that if you turn the flashlight on while the camera is running, camera will be unable to take pictures until your next reboot. Maybe this was a workaround?

There's already something for it: http://maemo.org/packages/view/powatool/

Very cool - thank you. Looks like it just hit a couple days ago. Have you used it? Seems simple enough (should be) to not cause problems. Screen shots show limited selection ability... I shall see I guess.

I took care that irritating hands vid on day two like all my Nokia stuff :-) but that's cool.

Re: I update FlashLight and now the App can open with the camera

Oh, this is sweet. Now why couldn't this just be a setting in the detault config? Too complex I guess ;-)

Could be a tad more intuitive, but easily one of the must-haves for the device.

Thanks again.

So, to the original poster - install powatool from the extras-devels repo (at your own risk) and your problem should be solved. I disabled profiles and the active sync (restarting, but I think that's what is in powatool) applets and turned on geotagging in camera and flashlight is there.

I've used this for 3-mins so no idea if it causes any other issues, but really shouldn't.

For the original poster: disable extras-devel (keep it disabled) and reinstall the application.

OK, I enabled devel, installed a bunch of apps and all the updates. Now it won't boot and the flashlight doesn't work at all. Weeeiiiird.

Should I put this in as a bug?

Next time I will keep it enabled for sure. My bad for disabling it.
