N900 File sharing
 

Does anyone know of a p2p filesharing application similar to Limewire for the N900? I think it would be a great option to be able to download mp3's etc straight to the N900. TIA

there is transmission a BitTorrent client, not sure that this is what you are looking for but anyway

There is an alternative Soulseek client called Nicotine. I don't know about its porting status, but i think I've read something about using it inside Easy Debian for now? I hope it gets ported soon.

Well, I got it to download (Theatre of Hate's classic Rebel Without a Brain is playing) but can't run things directly. Nice site!

It streamed a song from the N900 browser about 3 minutes after clicking the link - but then it hard-crashed the browser halfway though the song.

Too bad, I was pretty excited about the idea of on the fly playlists! Still, it's good for a quick DL fix.

3 minutes - are you sure it was streaming? Sounds more like it downloaded, then played.
The site is not streaming even on my PC now, but the download link worked. (mp3 over http)

I'm pretty sure it was streaming, I had the progress bar lit and moving in the mini-player at the top of the screen, and I also adjusted the volume (albeit clumsily) with the mini-player's volume control. Also, when the browser-crash message popped up (I was fullscren in a game ATM), the music stopped.

I also did some downloading of the files, and tried to play them while I DL'd the next one, but the second DL'ing file stopped midway through for some reason

you can use opera unite file sharing and use your n900 browser to view files:) operaunite.com you just need opera browser on pc and an opera account thern go to operaunite.com and install file sharing.
