Problem with 5 PR1.1 Update
 

I've just download the update. After the download had completed my N900 rebooted and I get this message :
Code:

Installing software update.
Please do not interrupt.

After 1min it reboots again, and I get the same screen again.
I can't connect to my pc to back it up (windows 7 32bit).
Can someone help?

Yeap, but I wanted to hear the opinion and suggestions from other ppl too. If this is bad delete the post, or report it.

What other suggestions are you looking for? Currently you have a linear problem with only one solution. That is making it stop rebooting over and over.

There is only one solution to that. Remove the battery. Don't turn it back on. The N900 behaves differently if you boot it up while attached to a USB cable then it does without it.

So take the battery out. Put it back in. Leave it off. Attach it to your PC via USB, then power it on again. Also the firmware updating software works in the same method.

I plugged the battery out. Plugged it back in. Plugged USB cable. Then it automatically switched on and did the same.

And it keeps rebooting.

So it turns itself on after you put the battery back in?

Is the hardware button on top jammed somehow? That shouldn't happen.

Nope, it works good. When I attach the USB cable it automatically turns on.

Now, I've pulled the battery off. Plugged the USB cable, and it didn't turned on by itself.

i meant USSD commands like *100# to check balance on prepay connection.

All that PR1.1 did here was change the phone app to not automatically reject any * or # characters, and add specific handling for IMEI retrieval, and one or two others. The bug report for USSD handling says FIXED and indicates availability in PR1.2, so you'll have to wait for that.

I have the same problem, I got this message after installing Mobile Maps to my N900, 'Installing software update, please do not interrupt'.
The mobile is restarting automatically either after removing the battery and attached to USP, any one can help please....

What is the point of brining up this topic again? Its PR1.1 and PR1.3 has been out months?

I agree with teh..

Just download the PR1.3 firmware & flash it..Should solve all ur problems...

I have the same problem ,,, i tried to flash my Nokia n900 but thee problem is when i connect the phone to the computer its connected only for 5 second and after that doing restart again and again ,,, and the battery after that not charging !!!! because the phone restart it self too many times,,, please if some one know how to fix this problem in booting Nokia !!!! I have in my phone mutiboot mode ,, and all my contacts in my phone i do not need to lose them ,,

I used phoenix to try to fix this problem but not helping
I used flash maemo 3.5 but no results at every !!!
my PR1.3 firmware
please help
