As fmms is in extras-devel, it is most certainly not intended for rookie end-user use and you could end up causing yourself future problems with your device unless you know what you are doing.

As such, I feel that posting a step-by-step howto is not in anyone's best interests.

Re: MMS On Tmobile UK

first u have to create devel catalog (appl from this catalog can damage your phone but don't have to so if you are not sure about your needs or skills dont use it and wait for official applications from Nokia or firmware update)

The software hosted in extras-devel is NOT ready for normal users!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't play with it unless you really know what you are doing. Be ready to file proper bug reports instead of posting complaints. Expected problems: crashes, battery drain, poor system performance, full disk space & more - SERIOUSLY!

Don't play with Extras-devel if you haven't backed up your data or are prepared to re-flash your device.

Application manager --> Application catalogs --> New
Catalog name: Maemo Extras-devel
Web address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel
Distribution: fremantle
Components: free non-free

then refresh (now it is closed because of moving server)
install fApn and fMms appl
run fApn and create new APN with MMS setting which u can get from your operator
run fMms and it will start with configuration, put APN name the same u named ur MMS APN point during fApn configuration
type MMSC which you can take from your operator type your number starting with + and put max size of pics u want to have in outgoing mms
save all and start sending MMS from fMms menu.
It is very important to put correct setting in new APN and be sure if there is proxy needed in your operator.
The most important thing when u have MMS ready to send u have to manualy connect to MMS APN from phone menu because it doesn't force this conection by itself.

Ok i have got it going but one thing baffles me and that is if you have to force the apn when you send a picutre, what happens when someone send you a pic, does it automatically come through or not

Re: MMS On Tmobile UK

if ypu get MMS u will have msg on ur screen then conect to APN and open fMms and it will download msg with pic.

Re: MMS On Tmobile UK

scheweppes79 there is no mms as of yet for the n900.

if someone sends you a mms you wont get it.

wait around for abit until fmms is tested and sfae, or nokia include it in the f/w..

ok(reading back lol) it sounds like fmms is probally safe and sorted- good luck

I've tried the above settings with user/pass login details but I can't seem to get fMMS sending an MMS message. Has something changed recently?
