we paid 500-600 euros/dollars/pounds/etc ... to work for nokia and decrapify n900 :D
i guess we should get a nokia.something email address

You are basically right, but the point is that most of us find quite entertaining to "decrapify" the N900 ;)
However, I'd find my @nokia.com email pretty cool!

LOL :) You should've seen what it was like to have a first gen iPhone! It was way way worse! You can get a @ovi email address for free.

You could call it a co-op. We are invested because improvements we make improve our investment (the N900).

had one ... iphone ... i dropped it 2-3 months after i bought it ... screen broke ...

This device is at a whole new level from other things.
"Working for the OS" comes with the territory when you sign up in favor of an open OS.

As soon as you agreed to use an open OS on your phone you agreed to help it form into the future or shut up and watch.

You got problems with it? Then use the channels given to you by the joint community and Nokia to make your voice heard as to what you need and want.

The value of this device, the ability to help shape it, is at a whole other level than the past concepts of retail phones.

This is the start of something great.

same with my computer, linux has simply just started to work out of the box the last two years.... its like i dont even care to change the gtk theme anymore even.... I changed from windows to get excitement, its not like win never crashed, the problem was rather it crashed with no way of making a permanent fix for the problem that occurred.

Anyways, i miss the text based installers, and the live only boot discs. And i dont miss having to reinstall my operating system just because the windows installer decided to call the windows partition for E: or something else (thats an annoying bug)

Hahahha, think about it, what if we had all bought a windows mobile phone, we could not have fixed our bugs :P

I had Linux simply freeze on me once, then i remembered that my new bluetooth mouse drained more battery than my old wireless mouse hahaha (true story)

Maemo 5 is far too sleek for me. I hope Maemo 6 will be more rugged not like iToy
