[boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
So, I was thinking that a "noise" boot video would be awesome, but I have zero video editing skills etc., so I was hoping if someone would be kind enough to make one.
Basically, I guess it would just be fade-in->noise->fade-out, and without sound if it works without it. (Since the noise sound is pretty annoying!) Noise meaning THIS, if you didn't figure it out yet! |
Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
How long a video you want 5/10/15/20 secs? and nothing but noise?
|
Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
I was thinking something along the lines of 6 seconds, and yeah, just noise :D I guess I'm weird but I think it would be a really cool video.
Though, a "TV shutdown effect" in the end might be cool as well, I don't know. The "zap"-thing. |
Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
TV shutdown effect on device BOOT video. Ironic :D

Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
Yes it is a bit ironic I guess, also I'm all LCD so I don't get the old CRT fashioned shut down effects it just goes black when I hit the off switch. Try this http://homepage.ntlworld.com/vyper1/tvnoise

Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
it would be better if at the end it acted as if a signal was found and displayed some sort of maemo logo before it boots up.
or pretend you've switched channel and found maemo or something |

Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
I'm currently watching Aston Villa and then I'll be watching the Mighty Gooners, yes I'm an Arsenal fan so don't hate me :p

Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
Ha! This video is awesome! No more annoying Nokia sound at start up.
and I think the "tv off zap" looks really cool even though it isn't "logical". :P Unless you think of it as "the screen is malfunctioning but starts working"... EDIT: I guess it could be a little brighter though, and the inverse-circle-shadow could be left out for a really bright cool effect (It would look more like the device is "malfunctioning", it looks artificial because of the shadow). Just IMO. But I'm not the artistic guy here :D |

Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
Nice idea.
I'd like to combine that with some retro theme. Landscapes made of pure wireframe. Green & glowy, with a dip of gaussian blur. But first i have to get my N900. |
Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
I would like one with some noise on the noise, if you know what I mean:D
Like the annoying sound;) |
Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
Does anyone know if the boot process continues while video is playing or is it halted for the duration? This would hint at boot video length.

I removed the vignette so it should be bright enough for you.

Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
So, did it cut out? Or it was the kind of video that is hard to track?
I'm also thinking not boot while playing, since it would probably be very choppy. So, basically, longer boot video equals longer boot time? I'm thinking no video right now, faster boot more root space? |
Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
It was a minute long video of tv noise so not the easiest to track:D. I was counting in my head and lost interest but i'm sure it stopped at around 45 second. For me any video I make myself is the same length as the Nokia handshake which is 5 secs. That is an ample amount of time IMO.

Re: [boot video request] (Analog TV) Noise
I did another update to tv noise video found either here http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40137 or direct from here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/vyper1/tvnoise2.avi
