Just checking, are the repos still down cause of the server move. or is it just me?

Just got off the phone with the ISP help desk.
The fix goes to tomorrow morning.

Until that repositories and mailing lists are down due to a completely dead NFS mount. :(

P.S. Sorry for starting a new thread, but I want the topic to be descriptive.

P.P.S. I know a couple of people have set up mirrors of the repos, so if you have just flashed your device and want the software today, please see the server move thread for people who might have a mirror.

Thanks for this. Does this mean that the fix may come effective in the Philippines by Tuesday? I hope that it'll be fixed earlier than than.

damn i got scared...i bought my n900 16-01-10 and when i went and added the repositories and they didn't work, not even the default one i assumed i had just bought a 600€ brick, good thing they are just down atm. I can live with that

Just my initial thoughts of all this mess; shouldn't Nokia host these kinds of important servers instead of outsource to an unreliable ISP? "Real ISPs" have 24/7 maintenance anyway.

This must be so embarrassing for Nokia right now...

At least Nokia should run a mirror to keep the service up in those cases. Especially bad as PR1.1 was out right before they moved and many users were in update mode ....

Nokia should have mirrors, but I am happy that they are open enough to allow others to mirror their repositories unlike some other platforms and it's nice to see that they implemented open source package management for the whole system as well.

hi.this evening i've tryed to find adjournament for my nokia n900 and i've saw this message:"application list partially adjourned...some catalog not available.
verify details of catalogs". i've pressed on the "datails" button and i saw that there are maemo.org catalog and maemo extras catalog with an error.
what i have to do to repair at this?thank yuo(sorry for my probably english error)

OMG yes. My thoughts exactly. Today, our brethren with iphones and android devices might be getting a lot more app love, but I wouldn't trade my n810 up for either. Nokia handles this like a trusting parent, and that's the best way in my eyes.

I think Nokia should have reliable server(s) not just a single one, if they want to compete with IPhone and others.

Honestly, this has little to do with Nokia - the mirrors that are up are only mirroring the free packages, not the non-free ones, and there's nothing Nokia can do to stop mirrors.

Come on - this hosting server stuff isn't rocket science. I can't remember a single instance of any other site having a three day outage.

Just pondering here.

Nokia servers seem to be up. Actually those servers have never been down*. BUT maemo.org servers are down. I understand that this hits also Nokia, but is maemo.org and extras including testing and development completely different organization from Nokia?

Nokia servers seem to be down for me (tableteer.nokia), is anyone else experiencing this? The tableteer repos shouldn't be tied to maemo repos, no?

It's possible that so many people are using them they are being overloaded. Anyway, people, it's time for patience. All together ommmmmh.

And pray that none of the people who are going to bring back the repositories are doing something else on Monday's US holiday.
