After I received my N900, I purchased an iGo car charger with an appropriate tip. Subsequent to that, I added charging tips for all my other in-car devices.

the igo looks pretty good, if your on a budget I would ponder you can get away with a $5 car/usb charger and $2.00 for a usb --> micro usb cable

You may have to do the 'dumb charger' mod for it though.

I have a extra wall charger, my old motorola works with the N900 so I can use it with my inverter in my car. A inverter for me was a better investment than any kind of car charger since i can use it for any/all devices like my laptop and it was only like $25.00 for a 2x AC plug & 1x USB plug inverter that is rated for like 350w or so.

bought a tiny car usb port its about 3cm long plug any usb cable straight in. use with standard usb cable..............:D

What would be a problem if someone use DC-9? It's amongst the list of official n900 accessories?

on my n900 at the so linking is hard, but check my created posts. i have a retractable nokia one that is great, and charges as well as the normal plug.

Just got to a pc :) - the one i use is the
DC-10 retractable car charger

It works really well! - is a bit bulky, but love the retractable part.

I used this one from Nokia

Finally found one from Nokia. It is a Nokia DC-6 Mobile Charger only 13.99US.

I got this retractable one from amazon for $10. It charges my n900 pretty quickly, and the retraction mechanism is very good.

I have the Nokia car charger and whilts it charges the phone OK the noice it introduces makes the device useless as an audio player. I use the headphone connected to the aux in on my car head unit. It plays very well until I plug in the charger and then it picks up all the ignition noise :(

Is that the DC-6 or DC-10?

And have you tried the FM transmitter (with fm-boost) - does that still introduce noise?

I'd really like to know this as I've just (about 10mins ago) ordered at DC-10...

The charger is the DC-6. Using FM transmitter is also impossible due to the noise it creates :(

I would love to know if there is the same issue with the DC 10 or if anyone alse has had this same issue as i have with the DC-6. All my other devices plugged into the car are fine with no noise at all
