Request for Apps here!

Hi,

I am not a developer but couldnt find a thread where i can request an app for N900 so thought to make a thread where everyone can request for the wished app for N900. So do it here.

Regards.

Great idea. How about an expense tracker and a 'star gazer' application a la mUniverse for the iPhone. Also, a good london tubes map and status updater.

How about a simple UK TV listings app. Had one called Vizimo on my N97 and kind of handy to have.

An improved Email app would be great too, would love Profimail to work on the N900.

i feel unfortunatley all the ideas in here may just get lost in the land of the forums....

The best ways to get noticed are:
Create a brainstorm and associated post in the brainstorms thread - being as in depth as possible and requesting support. ask for who you need, coder/developer, graphics person, testers etc... see how much support you drum up.

The other method is to create a [proposal] thread - search some others that have been created - i suppose it is a different method - but again the idea is to drum up support.

The more effort you put in the higher chance there is that people will help you :)

very needed:
- entering a random code with about 10 chars until im able to stop it.

nice to have:
- it takes the weather data for special alarms. if the temperature drops to
the freezepoint it wakes me up xx minutes earlier

The one app i would love for my N900 is a Step Counter / Pedometer .

Nokia made one which i used to use on my N95 and N86, and i really miss it. Its on the Nokia Betalabs if you want to see what it looked like for those phones. It used the phones acceleronmeter thingy to detect your steps, and works very well.

It would be great of someone could port tucan to maemo,
It's written in python, has a command line option and uses pygtk.
It's for downloading from hosting site such as rapidshare and the likes.

Post devs don't have time to work on our own apps let alone work on requests. Sorry to hurt your feels. Just letting you know that this is not best way to get an application your looking for. Best way would be to show some interest in learning to program it your self and then you would be surprised on how much help you get.

Before the n900 hit the streets we had two big threads - one for app suggestions and one for widgets.

Since then, most of the debs have got involved with their own projects. Your best bet is to think up something quirky and see if you can raise interest. Try making a brainstorm. Or start asking how to make it for yourself.

I have a basic one ready on my N900. Hopefully I'll upload it to the Ovi Store this month, if I can figure out how.

Also, a good london tubes map
There are a couple of "tube navigators" in extras-devel already, they seem to work and should probably just be pushed to extras.

This doesn't mean the thread is useless. As an application developer with an eye to (hopefully) making some money on the Ovi Store, I find it extremely useful as "idea well". If anything, I wish there was some sort of semiautomated way to propose & vote "wishes", and it would be fantastic to have it integrated on the Ovi Store..

imagine something like this:
  • 1234 users are still looking for a better "bunglerizer" (Click here if you are one of them | Go to discussion thread to request features)
  • The top-3 apps for type "bunglerizer" are BungleBuster, KawaBungler and MyBungler
  • The currently available "bunglerizer" apps are SuperBungler, KawaBungler, BunglerFan, Bunglr, MyBungler, BungleBuster
  • Looking for something else? See all app types or create a new type.

Publishers can then spam "voters" of specific apptypes whenever they publish an app.

But I guess since they still can't work out how to make the store work properly with the "click and download" model, something like this will never happen.

I'd love an Ebay app like the one for the Iphone. Works great, any way to get it on the N900?

USB (or other) DVB-T Tuner & Viewing application

Sorry but i don't see what use an ebay app would have .I have ebay bookmarked so it's only two touches of the screen away and that brings me to the full website not a reduced features app .

Re: Request for Apps here!

Call Rejector
a simple call rejector application which rejects calls listed by the user.
1. allow list - when active only calls from the listed numbers will be allowed.
2. reject list - all calls are allowed EXCEPT the ones listed in "reject list"
3. auto reject unknown numbers - numbers not stored in the users contacts are auto rejected. (option to turn this feature off)
4. private numbers - private numbers are auto rejected (option to turn this feature off)

the application will be similar/a replica of HandyBlacklist for the S60 platform.

Future Improvements - SMS/MMS rejection following the same examples/options as above.

Im not a developer but would be keen on going through the process to help with develpment.
