N900, UK - Screen protector suppliers/product recommendations
Hi,
I've got an N900 scheduled for delivery. Am interested in getting a screen protector. I've used these on ipod mini, and multiple S60 devices before but none have been touch sensitive. Looking for a good value option - nothing too expensive, but something that won't affect the screen brightness, viewability or use of styles too much. Any recommendations - online order or ebay? |

How is it in terms of affecting the screen responsiveness?
How about scratching (ok they're cheap so can be replaced) Affects screen brightness much? |
Re: N900, UK - Screen protector suppliers/product recommendations
ZAGG Shield is pretty good, I have the complete phone protection, it gives a lot of peace of mind. It does give a slight "rubbery" feeling to the screen, and makes the screen a little less sensitive.
to buy online: http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/...ns-shields.php http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ZAGG-Invisible...item5638fb8430 retail locations: http://www.zagg.com/sellzagg/retail_...?viewcountry=1 England is selectable in the list... |
Re: N900, UK - Screen protector suppliers/product recommendations
I just put my one on tonight (I can't remember exactly who I got it from on ebay, but I had 4 for 2.49 so I don't think it was the same seller as the link above).
Size - About 99% correct. I found it just going into the edges a little bit too much, so I have some bubbles in some places around the edges. Maybe it was 100% perfect fit but I didn't do a 100% job of fitting it! Response - I've not noticed any difference in using the screen via finger or stylus since I've put it on. Brightness - No great difference, to my eyes at least! |

The protector in my link came in 2 days (UK), brightness is not affected, I'd say touch takes a 5% hit but is still perfectly usable and not annoying.

me too, paid 16 pounds from ebay, then saw them in carphone warehouse store for 15, very happy with it, i think it gives the phone more grip with it being on the back and sides, scratches seem to disappear immediately too, wouldnt surprise me if those crazy dudes at nasa made the material |
Re: N900, UK - Screen protector suppliers/product recommendations
In my opinion always buy the invisible shield, I bought mine before I even got the phone.
You can either the full body one or just a screen protector but i would recommend the full body. if you don't want to spend that much then you can get the cheaper ones but all them got mixed reviews so I wouldn't bother. |

I fitted one of these last night - http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/..._ya_oh_product
Very happy with it. Spent some time cleaning the screen properly and being obsessive/compulsive about dust (seriously - I went into the bathroom to fit it having ran the shower for about 15 mins first to de-dust the room with steam). Extremely clear, and hasn't made a noticeable impact on the screen's responsiveness. I'd certainly buy another one if i needed a replacement somewhere down the line. |
Re: N900, UK - Screen protector suppliers/product recommendations
I bought the Zagg from mobilefun but threw it away - the rubbery feel made the touchscreen very hard to use. Am now using the same ebay protectors as steevp. Delivery only took 2 days, and that was during the worst of the big freeze in early Jan.

Re: N900, UK - Screen protector suppliers/product recommendations
brand clear protector. I'm satisfied with it. stick well. Any excess water will be gone in 24 -48 hours.
The trick is to make sure it has enough water and also make sure your hands is wet to avoid fingerprints. if you made a mistake just lift it again and dab some water. Took me a while but once you got the trick it will be easy. If you get bubbles just lift up to the part of the bubble and just drop water. I got a full body here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT They also sell just screen protector: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT |

Re: N900, UK - Screen protector suppliers/product recommendations
had Clarivue protectors on for less than one day and took them off, no cut outs for front camera and no cut outs for proximity sensor, also it is way too small, if you line it up to bottom left corrner while installing there is massive gap on top and right edge, gap is so huge n900 logo doesn't even get covered fully.
