msn problems please help
 

first of all guys i just want to say am so sorry for starting this topic i know that there are hundreds of topics discussing this thing but i searched for 2 days and couldn't fix my problem.
From the date i received my N900 in December till now & even after i updated it i downloaded Extra protocol plugins for contacts and conversation in extras and i downloaded pecan these are the only two integrated msn plug-ins i find when i enable extras-testing and extras-devil anyway when i try to sign in i put my email and my password then the butterfly appears down in the screen stay for like 30 seconds then nothing happens (am not signed in with not any error appearing) then i can re-sign in again but off-course same problem and now i cant even open testing and devel after i updated the software.. can anybody please help me i need my msn i use it 24/7 thanks alot :)

Daking, can you try removing the 2 plugins you installed and install "Pidgin protocols plugin for Conversations and Contacts"? It uses the haze-telepathy instead of butterfly-telepathy and has been working great for me since day one.

mm ill try but i dont know whats wrong with my n900 after i updated i cant open the extra testing or devel :( i get an error of temporary failure resolving 'repository.maemo.org since i have updated:(

Hmm.. that's odd, I don't know much about maemo, still in the learning process. One thing I would try is to delete extras-testing and extras-devel repository and re-add them see if it works

yea man i tried that alot i dont know they just can't log in :( im so unlucky especially after this update :(

Do I need to install Pidgin application before installing "Pidgin protocols plugin for Conversations and Contacts"?

What is the best MSN plugin for conversations? is it Pidgin?

@salah99: Pidgin application is not required, I tried using it before telepathy-haze but I don't like it. I prefer the clean and simple integration of plugins into n900's own "Conversations" over a separate application. As for best MSN plugin, I can't really comment on that as I haven't try either pecan nor butterfly.

thnxx hwong the repository's now work and i downloaded pidgin protocol but it does exactly the same as the old ones it even sign me out in my laptop as if its going to sing in but it never do :(

After you added your msn account into n900's IM accounts, did you hit "Online" and then "Save"? I just tried adding another msn account and it works for me.

online then save ? where ?? well when i installed the plugin i opened the conversation then accounts then new i found msn (haze) opened it put my username and password there is no only and save only sign in :S am i missing something ?

never mind i found it u are talking about the one same as skype right well i did it online and save now its taking like 10 min still switching between green and white (x) don't know why it usually takes seconds :( strange..

Press on the status bar (where battery and signal strength is at), hit "Availability", then u'll see a lists of accounts (if not then select "accounts" and enable the one you want to get online), select "Online" is located on the top bar, next to "Busy" and "Offline". U'll have to hit save after selecting online. U'll then see a green bullet-shaped icon on the status area when you are logged in. Select "Offline" to log out. Your friends list will be added to ur Contact when you are online. To view just your msn contacts, go to "Contacts", select "All Contacts" from the top bar, select "Groups" then MSN (Haze), that will filter out and show ur msn contacts. Hope this helps

yea but the account of msn can be enabled or disabled when i press it i get a sign in which will do nothing not like skype :s :s.. and now am not even capable of opening skype its still loading :S
