Hey..

Im fed up with people complaining about the size of the N900 :mad:
Everywhere (mostly reviews) you find people saying:

"Oh-M-Gee this 'thing' is Huuuge"
"Oh-boooy this 'thing' is Heaavy"

(thing = N900) (in PINK ^)

I mean come ooon,WTF!!
Its not that big!! (atleast 4 me)

People say: "It pops out of my jeans/trouser"

Men DONT care about the SIZE! (or do they lol :p)

Anyway i just wanted to releaf my self...

I dont know about women,, Cause ya know they usually carry a bag :) (which easily solve the problem..)

Also, people still perceive it as a phonewith extra functions. It is more the other way around. It is a mini-tablet with phone functionality.
I find the Nokia N900 to be amazing. I have been installing some apps (also from non-Nokia repo's) and it is a ton of fun. The internetbrowser is amazing! Speedy, repsonsive.

If they want to complain, they should at least have experienced it first-hand first.

It has a slide out keyboard how big do people think it should be? I myself think the phone size and weight is perfect. I wouldn't trade mines for any other phone out there. I love when I pull my phone out to text or do something and people break thee necks to see what kinda phone I go. And when I tell them and show them all the features and things it can do I tell them envy is a sin and walk away! :D

My wife likes the N900, and doesn´t complain about the size. She actually rather wanted a N900 than a Iphone, due to the fact that the N900 has a physical keyboard, which is one of the awesome features that makes it big.

And no, she ain't got bigger balls than I do :)

Ahmed, I refer you to this thread, where it was proved incontravertibly that n900 is for girls. Indeed, as a result of that thread the n900 mirror app was created. (Though I think the devs wussed out of trying to make a fertility monitor because of the 'ick' factor in some of the indices ;) )

I'm still waiting for the weather to improve so I can carry the n900 where I always promised I would. ;)

When I got my n900 I was pleasantly suprised at how small it was. My coworkers with winmo phones which have keyboards have true bricks. As someone with electronics design experience I can appreciate how hard it was to fit all these features into such a small space.

Any phone with a slide out keyboard and a camera that is better than a toy will be the same size. And people who complain about the resistive touchscreen obviously arent using their fingernails. The keyboard keys need more than twice the force than the screen does.

N900 bigger than most devices.....hearsay and rumor.

Of the three dimensions I believe it is only bigger in 1 compared to its contemporaries.

Whether you choose to carry a pancake or a brick depends on what your plans for the day are rather than your gender surely?

I completly agree with the size. I have big hands so this device fits perfectly in my hands. Most of the phones that people say are perfect size are tiny to me and i dont feel like im holding anything. I love holding this device and knowing its in my hand.

Yea i never thought the phone is HUGE. Maybe that's cuz i never own a smartphone before. I mean if you started out with thin phones and then jump to N900, then i can understand people feel how thick it is. But for me, i never feel that way ...in fact my old phone is even thicker...haha!! I feel N900 is even smaller....PERFECT!

my initial response when i first opened the box was

"hey it's not big, it's not too heavy either"

then i hand it over to my cousin

he goes "wtf are you talking about, you don't call this big?"

haha, i was first weighing it in my hand without the battery =P
any ways, i still don't think it's too big or heavy. I'ma 5'2, 125 pound male, and coming from a thin and lightweight phone, having this be my first smart phone / mobile computer, I thought it would be heavier. Either way, it's not like it's anywhere as big as my wallet

My friends girlfriend discovered that my n900 is much better to use with long(fake) fingernails than friends iphone. :D plus points to me :D
So its a mens device but also very good for babes :)

Brand new WinMo phones have also been known to be much larger than the N900, and have attempted to suck them into their gravitation field. (HTC Touch Pro 2 - its a monster) Luckily for the intrepid N900, it has hundreds of dedicated and intelligent users to keep this from happening =P

I agree with that post, and the another thing that no much people know about resistive screen benefits, hear my story!

I had before iPHONE and Blackberry storm, of coarse the Iphone screen is more friendly, but my bigger problem with Iphone and storm was when I'm using gloves in 0º degrees and is impossible to touch the screen without take off the gloves, plus I love ride on motorcycle on the weekends and the N900 works perfect when you wear gloves, and it is for me is a huge advantage on Nokia N900.

I really love the N900 with all problems it has. I don't remember the last time I touch my Storm and my Iphone after get the N900.

I'm a 5" 103 lbs chick and i have no complaints even through i have small hands. love it! Came from using an unlocked jailbroken iphone.

first off... just cause no fellow ladies have responded, GREAT title u have there o.O :P way to be inclusive

but to speak from a woman perspective... the n900 isnt really that big. i remember the first time i opened the box and went "oh this isn't as big as i thought it would be". mind you it is a heavy piece of hardware, but i like that weight. lets me know im actually carrying it. besides its thickness, it is slightly smaller than most smartphones out there. and i dont carry a purse (hate them too bulky), i mainly carry it in my jean or jacket pocket, no problems there. and i have slightly small hands, so the keyboard actually doesnt feel cramped at all and allows me to type mad fast.

its been a great media player, took it around traveling, it literally replaced my laptop.

I read all the same stuff when I was looking up reviews in the early days...I didn't even care about the size, I don't think I actually looked up the dimensions until after I ordered it (I poured over the specs and software capabilities very carefully, but I couldn't give a damn about the size)...it's smaller than my Treo 650! This is what these crybabies are whining about!? They can wake me up when it's the size of a mid-90s cell phone. Heck my wallet gets way bigger every time the cashier at the gas station hands me a fistful of change.

regarding its dimension, I only compare its thickness. I am coming from E71, which is the thinnest qwerty device. I know I know I shouldn't compare it to the thinnest qwerty....

but what I want to share is using by holding the thin e71 is always a pleasure! I lost the good feeling after getting the N900. :(

Guys you wouldn't believe this. This device has changed me from clicking the mouse on my desktop and laptop to trying tapping the screen many times but nothing work. Then i asked myself, wtf? then i clicked! ohhhh it's not my N900 lol. i seriously abandon my laptop and have not turned it on since the day i got my N900. And now my desktop! is getting linely because it's been off for more than 1 week now.

THIS IS A REAL MAN PHONE! i meant if you are a girl then just change the "MAN" part to "WOMAN" lol.

I can't freaking use small/light phones. I've dropped 50% of all iPods that were made after 2008 (none of which I owned. whoops!), dropped my old tiny Samsung phone about a dozen times...

I even dropped my... er... Zune 30... *hangs head in shame* so many times that the LCD died.

It is the smallest phone i ever owned (mot dpc550, nokia 9000i, 9110, 9110i, 9210, 9210i, 9500, e90 all were bigger)
