Easy Debian Problem! HELP!
 

Hello there. I have a problem with Easy Debian. I have installed Easy Debian on my N900. The problem is that i cant get Debian chroot, Debian LXDE or Iceweasel Web Browser to load. The icons are there but i cant load them. Also i cant find openoffice anywhere. Only the Synaptic Package installer works. And i can see that openoffice and iceweasel are installed ( i have the iceweasel icon in my applications but i cant get it to load)
What am i doing wrong?

i can browse the synaptic package manager aswell

What do you get, when you type in

ls -l MyDocs/debian*

in XTerminal? If nothing, what from

ls -l /media/mmc1/debian*

ps ive installed it in the phones memory. i dont have a memory card installed

Then you still have to download the image file.

when i first ran the image installer it said that the image file was installed. i guess thats not the case. shall i try and download the file again?

it says: you already have the big image file
checking to see if it is good...
extracting the image file. this will take some time.

lets see what happens. cause ive been through this process before and it did install correctly. i dont know why it is telling me that it is not installed

I would just delete the image file from the phone and then run the download of the image again.

The first time I ran the downloader, I had to go out so cancelled it. When I ran it again, it said it was already downloaded (despite not completing) and that it was unpacking it... I knew it would fail, so started again.

Works an absolute treat, although I didn't get the Open Office icon until the package was updated over the past week or so...

Now i have another problem. The big image file must have been deleted by itself and now i cant open the synaptic manager. do you know why it did that? i will have to download it again. anybody else with this problem?
