3D Driving Game for N900?
 

Hi guys, i was wondering whether anyone is craving a 3D accelerated driving game for the n900?
I remember when i got my nokia e71 and i was impressed with the preloaded driving game, just wondering why nokia never thought to do the same to boast the graphics engine on the n900?

You don't like the game - fine. Don't download it. But calling it horrible is uncool.

Yes, in fact it seems ported from S60 V1(N-Gage etc.), so no wonder it doesn't look a thing like Bounce.

I really miss a 3D driving game for the N900, too. Still there exist some enjoyable driving games like F-Zero for the SNES Emu :)

We'll just have to wait for the PSX emu to come around. It seems to be coming along.
Gran Turismo 2 and older need for speed games eff yeah!

I hope they start working in a first person driving game using the accelerometer :p, iphone has one, and seems really fun, and since the N900 is better than that icrap, and have at least the same processor, i know it could run it, i wish developers started working on games for us like they did with iphone,hate to admit it but they have some cool games :confused:, and i agree with Bratag, can't complain unless you supoort or something, at least they're trying

Would be nice if there were more touch screen based games for the n900 as using the keyboard is awkward and not great for the games.
And nspeed, altho i appreciate the work the guy has done on this.....i agree with the other chap that the graphics can most definetly be better than this, free or not it is jst a general observation so dont lash out nw :-P

I just wish someone with skills developed a 3D driving game using the accelerator engine. Imagine a driving game that looked as good as bounce!
Will we ever get to the stage where you can mobile games against other N900 users online. Similiar to x-box live and PS3 network...

The way i understand it, not over the existing phone network. The latency is really high. It would be fine for turn-based and RTS games but that's not really what you have in mind, is it?

BTW Battle Gweled lets you play vs over wifi and the other PC ports of multiplayer games do the same IIRC (Quake, etc.).

Those doesn't work with accelerometer do they? .... i hope someone could make a cool driving game, with good graphics, imagine somethingl like F-zero, with the graphics from the 2nd bounce level, mix with some weapons, using the touch-screen xD that would rule. there's always hope :)

no, but theres an app "Accelemymote" that uses acceleromter as joystick, works with doom

unity is where its at for game development. im making a racing game with unity now. if the unity plugin worked on the n900 we could open up to another world of gaming.

Also, if there was some kind of OpenGL to OpenGL ES wrapper that would help a lot porting games like TORCS or ManiaDrive.

hmmm..wierd, just wondering why they dont port racing games like nfs shift, or rally Master like on the N8, I mean the n900 hardware can handle this right?

psx4all & overclock it is just not my thing, I'm not a power user, and besides psx4all and games like wipeout...etc, are nowhere near a game like rally Master (I mean number of fps, graphics) which is made by "professionals"...do you get it?

i suggest you ask Nokia why isn't there any racing games for N900. Nokia did not release their 3D plugin code or SDK to developers here, it made the porting and making 3D games, racing, fighting... very difficult. Only if Nokia freely distribute the code to the community to add into their code, otherwise there is not much things we can do, Smoku is trying really hard on debugging and porting Opengl ES support to N900 at the moment. But it's a hardwork since it's not an easy things to do.

OpenGLES is still available (for Xlib, Qt4 and SDL1.2), but you have to enable some repos to get the dev-files to compile (on the device or in scratchbox). There is also a xlib-wrapper available for python...

There won't be any such games developed for the n900, if that's what you're after nesrazz then don't waste your time waiting. If you want to play these types of games on your phone then you should really be looking at buying an Android or Apple phone, otherwise a portable games console like the PSP or Nintendo DS.

The only 3D racing games available for the n900 are nSpeed and Tuxrace.
