question about screen on the front camera
Hey everyone, i was trying to get the front camera working, however I noticed the screen on top of the front camera is very soft, is this normal? shouldn't it be hard like a glass???
Many thanks |

Re: question about screen on the front camera
FWIW I just noticed it when you mentioned it. I have also noticed that, when I move my thumb across the right side of the screen when it's in landscape mode, that I can actually feel a little bump -- not a solid bump, more like a transition. it's a little weird, but I don't think too much about it. Just try to be careful with it is all.

dharder, thanks for your reply. I think it is the screen cover, however shouldn't it be hard rather than soft??? it is really soft, is this normal? anyone?
thanks |
Re: question about screen on the front camera
uh... it's a resistive screen. The surface has to be a soft plastic film to allow the screen to accept pressure. if it was a hard glass screen it wouldnt work. capacitive screens are hard glass.

Re: question about screen on the front camera
Hi pagesix1536, thanks for your reply. Understand that now, thanks very much for your knowledge. So it is a plastic film then, so it is normal to be soft when press on the front camera, right? it should be strong enough to protect the front camera, correct?
Many thanks again |
Re: question about screen on the front camera
Yes it should be strong enough.

No it shouldn't be, there is a small amount of flex required to register the touch, the screens fine, unless you really do feel that its beyond that.
