May I request a statusbar applet, which shows some shortcuts to apps, and when the shortcuts are clicked, that app will launch. Take a look at my (low quality) mockup made in GIMP under Easy Debian :cool:

The apps shown would be configured from the settings menu, or from a seperate app

Edit: Brainstorm Link. Could a mod move this to the brainstorm forum?

The status bar is only one click away from any app. The desktop usually takes two clicks to reach, plus having to drag left/right if you are not on the correct desktop.
