Screen Calibration problem, Please Test

The top of the N900 screen seems to be unreachable. For example open xournal and enter fullscreen mode using the button at the bottom right, its impossible to write at the top of the screen. Anybody else got this problem? I tried calibrating my screen but nothing helps.

Not had to calibrate the screen for any reason other than because I can.... Run calibration again otherwise you have a faulty membrane.

hey whats up im the guy from youtube who asked for english subtitles. maby you remember.

my screen calibration utility is malfunctioning. when i attempt to use it, it emedietly closes out. nothin i do helps. it been like this for a entire 24 hrs. i rebooted many times, deleted apps, reset the setting & all to no avail.

any advice. im going to get a replacement if this presists.

ps: (there is dead pixels scattered through out my screen, and there was major crashing when i 1st got the phone 2 days ago) do you think that i just have a faulty unit? and given the issues listed above, do these problems constitute a return and or exchange????

try first to reflash using this how-to:

please also reflash the eMMC.

I have had a little (1 mm) offset between the stylus and the cursor near the edges. I calibrated the screen touching it not in the centers of the circles, but slightly closed to the center of the screen and it helped.

As for dead pixels, contacting Nokia authorized repair shop or Nokia Care is probably best. I don't think several dead pixels scattered across the screen is acceptable.

There is a bug in the screen calibration program atleast in PR1.0 that makes the edges inaccurate. The tscalib program is opensource and on gitorious, I downloaded and compiled it a few months ago when I couldn't get the screen calibrated properly. The gitorious version worked perfectly for me... I hope the new version was included in the 1.1 update...

Nope:

http://maemo.gitorious.org/fremantle...bian/changelog says 1.11-1 has the fix but dpkg -s on my PR 1.1 device says it has 1.10-1+0m5... =)

regarding this one, I cant calibrate my screen because it immediately closes when i tap from 1 or any where.

I wonder why, rebooting did not fix it, i hope there are other ways aside from reflashing.

the problem started when i install my first screen protector yesterday

This is a known issue with custom kernel.

See 'Remarks' in http://wiki.maemo.org/Overclocking

Also here's a workaround if you don't want to use the backported screen calibration utility:
