n900 and att connection failed
Hi guys
I really need some help I have att and after ai got the phone I turned on a data plan The system locates att on network search but says internet connection failed Does anyone have a solution for this error any help would be greatly appreciated |
Re: n900 and att connection failed
When I signed up for T-Mobile it took 48 hours for internet access to start working. Not sure if it's the same for AT&T. I could access the internet via wifi just fine, but not through the cell network (3G).

Re: n900 and att connection failed
I already had ATT when I got the n900, and it works fine. Just plugged in the sim card. Works with voice and data with out any effort from me. Of course, ATT's 3g doesn't work with the N900. Only Tmobile's 3g does in the US market. If your ATT connection is only giving you voice and no data, then either your plan doesn't include data or ATT has fukked something up. I'd call them.

Re: n900 and att connection failed
how did you solve this problem. I am getting "Connection Failed" mine is with another carry who supports 3G AWS. On my n900 I see data network setup with APN but the Network is type "GPRS". I can't edit this entry. Anyone recommend anything to solve this "Connection Failed"? Try another SIM card?

Re: n900 and att connection failed
meme, do you try to reboot phone?
I use ATT too and i force to register for PDA data plan package (30$ a month), when they update my plan on their side, all i need just reboot my phone than it work fine. If you got standard package ( 15$ a month ) work .. please let me know i will find a way to switch to that package .. when i got mine it wont work at all for this package. |

Re: n900 and att connection failed
I had the same problem after trying to use fMMS. Every time I tried to manually
connect to AT&T connection it'd take 2s or so to prompt the Connection Failed message. Rebooting didn't help. After comparing two backups (the configuration backup is stored in .xml files in a zipped file. kudos to the maemo team for using open formats) I noticed that the AT&T connection settings like username, password, etc were all erased. And such configurations were automatic, so I never had to enter them. Go on Settings, Internet Connections, Connections, select AT&T Internet and select 'edit'. Then select Next and you'll see the access point name, user name, etc. The settings: Access point name: wap.cingular User name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM Password: CINGULAR1 preserve the caps on the user name and password. let the password prompt off. Select Next and then advanced. In advanced proxy usage should be off and auto-retrieve IP address and auto-retrieve DNS on. |
