N900 support new Kingston 16GB microSDHC Class 10?

Kingston launch new 16GB microSDHC Class 10 SD 3.0, n900 support it? which is the maximum read/write speed of n900 microsd controller?

Should work fine, they support slower reads, so if the N900 only reads at 6/8 then it will read at those speeds :D (Can't see a spec on it's limit though)

Anyone tried Kingston 16GB microSDHC Class 10 on their Nokia n900? I am looking to buy this:

Someone who bought this please advice.

Any speed test on n900?

Since N900 follows the MicroSDHC standard(I seriously doubt that they don't) it will support any card made using that standard. That means that if someone manages to cram in 64GB on one card it should be supported(maybe after a FW update).

$100? WTF if you want to spend that much wait for the 32gb

And it should work, yes.

1. 32GB MicroSDHC just been released, MSRP is $200. And that's Class6, not Class10. So, $100 for 16GB Class10 is quite good. 16GB Class6 is ~$70-80
2. SDHC limit is 32GB, anything larger, like 64GB, would require SDXC standard, which is not in N900

There is a degree, not extensive, of compatibility between SDHC and SDXC electronics. This bit of compatibility would allow the N900 to use some, but by no means all, SDXC cards at reduced speeds (never mind exFat nonsense.)

Mind you.. the Nokia 770 with its RS-MMC port could, with a kernel patch, support microSD cards even though they're an incompatible shape!

A very strange adapter was required to allow the microsd card to be put in the slot on the 770

Here's hoping there's more that can be done in software, ey!

resuming this thread, so how many ppl right now are using class 10 cards with their n900, and which are the ones they recommend and is it really fast as marketed? I want to get a c10 card and I was thinking that 8gb c10 is 1/4rth of the price of 16gb c10 card.

I am using the Kingston 16GB Class 10 card with no problem.

and have you compared it with some other card to match performance?

64 GB SDXC and possibly even 128 GB SDXC should work fine in the N900 hardware wise. If the card comes with exFat (which it most probably would) then we would either need a kernel module for support or reformat it as regular FAT (or anything else)

I have the same card and it works fine... but the N900 cannot drive it at 10speed. I reckon it's equiv to about "x4" speed from comparing with other cards.
